We entered the throne room, being welcomed by two people. A woman was dressed quite regally, her hair tied back in a tight bun underneath her tiara. Her facial features such as her mismatched eyes made it incredibly obvious that this was Jareth's mother. Her husband stood beside her, his hair was brown and fell ever so gracefully over his shoulders. HIs sculpted jawline was definitely the exact same as Jareth's as well as his similar frame.

"Mother, Father," Jareth greeted the pair, a reluctant hug was given to his mother while it was almost like a Western movie cowboy stand-off with his father, "to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?"

"Your mother and I have arrived to meet your future queen." HIs father paused to stare at me, "You know, that girl from the Aboveground?"
A frown appeared upon his face as he turned back to look Jareth straight back in the eyes.
"Your majesties," I swallowed my nerves inaudibly and had to resist the urge to pick at the hems of my sleeves, "I'm Bernadette Miller, and I can assure the both of you that I was willing to venture to the Underground."
"And be forced into marriage?" Jareth's mother had nearly shrieked, "You must be quite young dear. A lot of life to live before settling down I'm sure." She circled me, making me feel even more uncomfortable, "What is the meaning of this Jareth?" She turned to face him briefly before lifting my chin up to inspect me further, "Just how old are you?"
"I am 18 human years old ma'am. I know I stop aging at 20."

Jareth's mother almost went to explode, the redness in her face had spoken more than her words had. It seemed more like a very condescending interrogation than anything. She watched as her son's eyes flickered to me, before returning back to meet her angered ones.
"Mother, I can assure you that none of this is 'forced'." I glanced at him, confusion in my mind as I was wondering how he was going to play this, "Bernadette and I are quite taken with one another, and she is a Fae. She is also very adept when it comes to handling any diplomatic dealings within the other realms. If it wasn't for her, I am quite sure that the Swarm Queen and I would not be in any sort of alliance whatsoever."
I could almost throttle him as I know nothing about diplomacy, but at the same time I was so surprised at how well this was going. Jareth would definitely have to educate me in the future if this was going to keep up, as I am so sure that I only merely greeted the Swarm Queen when she dropped documents into Jareth's advisors. I watched as he stood in the awkward silence we all felt. His face stoic but contemplative as 'She's the flower of the Labyrinth' rang through his mind.

"When will this wedding take place?" His father finally spoke up, asking the question that both his wife and himself had been waiting to hear the answers to. Jareth was lost for words and became speechless for the first time of his life. It was only October and he hadn't even thought of a date, let alone talking about one.
"The 8th of April. We both thought it would be such a lovely Spring wedding with many flowers." I smiled, thinking about how much Jareth was going to be in my debt as I spotted him nodding in agreement before conversing with his parents and I for an hour longer.
