I stood in shock, for the past year this is all I've wanted. Just seeing the little word 'pregnant' fills my heart with joy.
"How am I gonna tell Brendon?" I wondered. He's been so eager to have a baby, this has to be special.
I decided to take a shower and think it over while I got ready.
I was looking for something to wear when I remembered that Dallon had given us a P!ATD onsie "for your future rock star," he'd said. He'd given it to us on our first wedding anniversary and it's been put away in the guest room ever since.
I decided to just wear leggings and a simple maroon tee.
I'd heard my phone go buzz so I checked it, Brendon is on his was home.
I got the onsie and a little note saying
"We're gonna need this soon."
And say them with the pregnancy test.
When he got home I'd give them to him, hopefully he'll be excited.
I heard the car pull into the driveway and my heart began to beat a little, okay a lot, faster.
I moved the gifts out of sight and waited.
The door opened and I turned my head, greeted by Brendon's bright smile.
"Hey! Did you have fun?" I questioned, walking to him.
He nodded and began telling me a story as he put his things down and wrapped his arms around me.
"How was your day?" He asked, pulling my from my daydream.
"Oh, it was pretty good. I watched some tv, ya know the usual."
He nodded and kissed the top of my head. "Hey, do you have a second? I have something for you." I informed.
Brendon raised an eyebrow and smiled.
"I always have time for a gift. Whatcha got?"
I let out a slight laugh and pulled out the onsie.
"Haha what's this for?" He nervously asked as he took it from me.
"Just read it." Was all I said.
As he read the little note his face lit up and smile pulled at the corners of his mouth.
"Wait...is this a joke? Because I don't think it's funny." He asked, tears brimming his eyes.
I shook my head and presented the test.
Brendon jumped up and pulled me into his strong arms.
I was engulfed in his soothing smell and greeted by quiet sobs.
He was crying, I'd only ever seen him cry once before and that was on our wedding day.
"Bren...why are you crying?" I asked, taking his hand in mine.
"I can't explain how happy I am. My whole life I've waited to find the perfect person to start a family with. And the second I met you I knew it was you."
This made me cry, tears began to fall as he hugged.
He pulled me arms length away and studied me, smiling before putting a hand on my stomach.
"There's a baby in there..." he mumbled. I laughed and nodded before repeating "there's a baby in there."
