And I fell for you like raindrops.

I love volleyball. More than I love alot of things. But when coach Long said we were going to be running 10 miles around the school football track field, I was ready to quit right then and there. So now here I am, on my 6th mile running in the blistering sun with spandex on that are riding way too much for my liking. This is why I hate coach Long. She always does this to us. I don't even want to call her coach. She's the assistant coach. And the only freaking reason she's coaching today is because Coach Drinnon had to be somewhere else.
I've known Mrs. Drinnon since before I could remember. Her and my mom have been bestfriends since they were in 10th grade. I grew up with her kids, who just so happens to Ben and Macy.
"Why are we conditioning like this for practice?" Macy says, catching up to me. Being the captain, Long told me I have to stay ahead of everyone. Even if that means having a potential heat stroke. We've been practicing since the beginning of summer, and we've never had to do this crap.
"I've been asking myself that since the 4th mile." I reply, trying my best to keep my legs going. I'm going to die. Im going to die on a nasty running track feild.
"Instead of this deadly crap, we should be practicing plays inside the air conditioned gym were I wouldn't have to be worried about these stupid shorts." I continue. Macy laughs and agrees with me.
"I feel like if she got laid once in awhile, we wouldn't have to worry about coming to practice fearing for our lives when my mom isn't here." Macy whispers, causing me to almost double over in giggles. The sad part is that Macy's right. Long hasn't been getting any, so she takes it out on us.
I'm too engulfed in my conversation with Macy to notice the other human behind me.
"Dang Sanders. You should really wear those shorts around me more." The blue eyed goblin purrs in my ear, causing me to stop in my tracks and collide right into his chest. Macy stops too and Noah's staring right and me laughing his ass off.
Macy is staring at the both of us with her mouth hanging down to her feet. "I'm going to just.... yeah." She says to her cousin and me, giving me one last look before starting to run the track again.
"Wha-What Are you doing out here? And why did you say that??" I ask, trying to keep my temper in check. This boy really knows how to push my buttons.
"Well one: it's time for football practice in case you didn't notice the 30 players out here running plays, and two: let's just say you have a bright future behind you." he smirks, causing my cheeks to flame even more.
"I-you-m- ugh! Go away!" I storm off, running to catch up with Macy.
I can't even form coherent words around him. I'm not even sure how to feel.
I get about 20 feet away from him before I hear footsteps behind me. Of course I'm praying that it's just some other girl running, but I'm not that lucky.
"Can't escape me that easily little red." He says right beside of me.
"Noah, I have to finish my laps, and you need to go do whatever football players do during practice." I say, not even glancing in his direction.
"Well all I'm doing over there is wondering how you fit that in your shorts. It should honestly be a crime to wear shorts that look so good on you," his voice lowers. I finally stop and look at him, and I don't regret it. He's wearing his jersey and those white football pants. His dark hair is curly on the ends, sticking to his forehead. And those eyes, those damn eyes are staring me down. A small smile played on his pink lips. I can't help but notice how my heart rate picks up when I'm around him and the bubbly feeling I feel at the pit of my stomach. He looks like a Greek God.
"So listen little red, I got a question," he says, leaning a bit closer. I get a wiff of his scent, which consists of mint and strawberries. I have a feeling that's going to become my new favorite smell.
"I just might have an answer all-star." I return, looking up into those sea deep eyes. He smiles at me.
"Will you wear my jersey Friday at the game? It's the first home game and all the football player's girlfriends are supposed to wear their jersey and-"
"What who said I was your girlfriend?" I smile. I see his cheeks redden with a little pink tint to it. He looks down.
"I mean we give our jersey to a girl and have them wear it for us. Will you?" He asks, getting the nerve to look back up at me. He looks so nervous, and it's adorable.
"I'll have to think about it." I say. His mood lowers and I smile at his reaction. I step closer to him, placing my hand on his chest and getting closer to his face. I stop when we're barely 2 inches apart. He's surprised by my action, but I continue.
"Come on All-Star, you can't just woo me with that cute smile. You have to work for it." I whisper seductively in his ear then pull away. I walk slowly backwards, making sure I take in his full expression, then walk back towards the girls who are standing over by the fence. I didn't even notice that they were done.
"Dammit Sanders now I need a cold shower." I hear him grumble, stalking back over to the football team.
I smile, pleased with the reaction I got out of him. Panic feels me as I realize what i just got myself into. I'm playing with fire, and there's no way I'm going to make it out without being burned.
