Chapter 9

" Elizabeth Hackerman... what are you still doing here?" Howard asked surprised to see her standing still alive.
" It's a long story sir " she replied.
" That long story― I'm interested in." He said then to turned to Elena, Silas, Paul and Caroline. " You four are in big trouble. " he said then turned back to Betty as he held her hand and said " as for you my dear, come, explain all to me" .

Betty could bet that she heard a deceitful tone in his voice like he was more interested in her red blood than her lame story she had to tell.

They walked Through a passage and entered into his office. His office was big , about fourteen feet long and twenty-one feet wide. At the left corner of the room stood a shelve the exact height of the room. She stood few inches way from the door, her back facing the door.

" shut the door and please take a seat." Howard said as he sat behind his table which had pile of books on it. Betty reluctantly closed the door shut and slowly she took her sit.

" so this is how it went down..." Betty tried to explain but was hushed by Howard.
" I didn't bring you here to hear your story that is of less importance to me. The reason why I brought you here was to warn you." He said.

warn me...Betty wondered why he brought all the way to his office just to be warned.

" you know you are in a very dangerous place to be in right now. putting your life on the line, you ae not only risking your life but ours as well ". He said.
" risking your life?, I don't understand."
" you don't need to understand all you need to know is that HE doesn't want any harm to be done to you ..." He suddenly paused realising he had said too much.
" who is the HE? " Betty asked.

Just then, an announcement was made, " Elizabeth Hackerman, your presence is required at the proprietor's office immediately."
" he is none of your business. Now leave my office and stay away from the students...especially those that want you dead " he said rather harshly as Betty quickly stood up to leave.

who is the HE?, Betty pondered as walked through the passage back to Silas room.

Two hours ago..
The school Board sat around a conference table as a man addressed them. He was Raven haired, had black eyes that could pierce the soul with a stare. He was Kinda Plain skinned to look upon and he wore an angry look on his face. He was dressed in all black, and he moved quickly whenever he wanted to make his threats clear...a sign he was a vampire.

" like I said before nothing must happen to the human girl or else I'll burst your necks" he said and moved very quickly to the grumpy judge that the judge didn't notice him move.
" But Angus...Lord Angus " A woman in a grey skirt suit and glasses said " we have rules and laws guiding this school..."

" your rules and laws don't apply to me. The girl isn't to be harmed and that is final. Anyone who thinks otherwise can put me to the test " He said sternly.

he looked around and saw four seats were empty " pass across the information to the others absent. In the meantime, James I'll like to speak with you...in private " Angus said.

" very well then, we shall speak in my office " James replied and dismissed the meeting.

" Father I suppose what brings you here is more than the human girl." James said as he sank into his office sit.
" Very true son..." Angus said and sat down " the human girl is not the subject of our discussion."
" Then what brings you here, you didn't just travel all far east just to say hi. We both know that." James said then realised he hasn't entertained his visitor. " How rude of me, would you like anything?" He asked as Angus declined the offer by raising his left hand.
" okay then, speak." James and crossed his arms across his chest as waited to listen.
Angus sighed and began " My reason for showing up in your place unannounced is about this stupid endless battle, game whatever you and your sister want to call it has to end."
James face which was expressionless minutes ago suddenly turn into a frown on hearing those words, it has to end .

" No!" James barked "I wont surrender to her never. Except she accepts the wrong she has done to me and surrender then I'll end this war. But till then, this conversation is over."

" very well then, I'll go talk to someone more sensible than you" Angus said as he stood to take his leave.
He was already halfway through the door when James suddenly said " The father forgets to remember who is daughter is. Katherine will never surrender."
Angus looked over his looking at his son through the side of his eye and wondered how his son got so foolish. " I'll take my chances " he said and walked out of the office slamming the door shut behind him.

Minutes after he left, James moved to the microphone on his desk.
" Elizabeth Hackerman you presence is required at the Proprietor's office immediately." he announced.
