Ch.21: Battle Scars

Cory's P. O. V

It was October 19th, and Beth had just left for school. I, Cath, and Cobes were all lying on the couch, eating popcorn and watching Toy Story. Yes we are 5 year olds again, I know. "Hey. Let's do something, you know fun. "Catharine said." We are. Watching movies and eating popcorn" Coby said. I and Catharine chuckled as she said "Like getting around type of fun. Let's play devil in the dark. It's almost Halloween". I and Coby smirked as we agreed to play as the devils. "That's not fair! There's only one devil! "She pouted." Yeah. We know. That's what makes it more fun. And plus instead of the upper part of the house. We get to use the whole house "I said with a smirk. Catharine's eyes widen in fear as she ran upstairs for her life. "Well. At least what part of the house to look at first" Coby smirked. I nodded in agreement as we both ran upstairs, looking for Catharine.

I and Coby ran upstairs as we parted ways. Coby took our room, as I took our sisters rooms. I entered Beth's room first as I looked around in the dark. There was tiny bit of light coming from the sun behind the closed blinds. I looked under the bed, in the closet, and all around the bathroom. No Catharine. Then I heard a scream coming from our room. "Found the brat" Coby screamed. I ran into our room and found Coby holding Catharine on our bed. "The bathroom. Bottom cabinets" He said. I nodded as I climbed into the bed and said "Now we can torture her". Catharine's eyes widen as she put her hands up in surrender. I and Coby chuckled as we decided to let her go. We walked down stairs after the game as my phone started ringing; it was coming from Beth's school. "Hello? I said. My siblings looked at me like "who is it?". I gave them the wait finger as a female voice spoke in my ear. My mouth dropped as I hung the phone up. "What is it? Is Beth ok?" Coby asked. I ignored my older brother ran upstairs to our room to get my shoes and coat. Coby followed behind as he kept asking me if Beth was alright. " Get your shoes and coat, tell Cat the same. We're going to Beth's school. "

Beth's P. O. V

Blood was dripping down the side of my face as she swung at me one last time. Chloe hit me as hard as her fist could punch, almost knocking me out. Everything was a blur and I couldn't see a thing. I heard voices though. Ryan and his ex-girlfriend Chloe screaming at each other. Sean backing him up, and Amy too. "She took you away from me!" Chloe screamed. "I thought we had something" she said calmly, which scared me. "Yeah. We did not we're throwing out the window. And plus Chloe I chose her myself, Beth did nothing. You however, ruined our relationship, telling her that we were together. Bull crap Chloe! Stay away from my real girlfriend, and if you come near her ever again." He continued to scream. "I'll come for you alright. I'll screw your life, real bad." He whispered the last part to her as she stormed off with tears in her eyes. Students were crowded around as Ryan yelled " What are you guys looking at? Get the hell away from us and her" He pointed at me as he slid down against a locker and buried his face into his knees as Sean tried to comfort him and Amy came over to me to get me to the nurse. The students were gone and it was just me, Amy, Sean, and Ryan walking to the nurse. As Amy opened the door, I saw my three older siblings in there. "What are you guys doing here?" I asked. "We wanted to make sure you were ok" Cory said with a sad expression. "I heard Ryan yelling down the hallway" Coby said as he played with his hair. "It was Chloe" Ryan said. "She punched Beth at least 5 or 6 times in the face and legs". My legs were bruised up and the side of my face felt like a rock being slammed against a concrete floor. The nurse bandaged my head and gave me medicine for my legs to take every 4 hours.

When we were home, I and Ryan were up in my room watching Disney movies and cuddling. Ryan asked his parents if he could watch over me from earlier today, and they said that it would be the best thing. Ryan kissed me on my forehead as he decided to hit the hay. We both lay in my bed, cuddling in each other's arms. I close my eyes and drifted into slumber.
