Roses pov
"Is it alright if you take care of Josephine for half the day? I have to do a reshoot of some scenes. It won't take me that long"
"Yeah ok sure. Drop her round any time", he said over the phone. I then hung up.
"Am I going to George's?", Josephine asked.
"Yes. Yes your are. It's only because mummy got called to reshoot some scenes. Don't worry they won't take long. Then I will come and pick you up", I kissed her.
"Ok mummy", I gave her a tight big hug.
"You better get changed", she then scrambled off the bed and went to get herself ready for the day.
George's pov
"Do you know your daddy Josephine? Do you have one?", she shook her head, "do you know anything about him?"
"Not really. Mummy prefers not to talk about it. I know he was an artist though! He was very good mummy said. The best in the world!", she continued to build with her blocks.
"Did you ever get to meet him", she shook her head.
"He died before I was born", she finished her tower, "finished George", she clapped herself, "now let's start again!", she bulldozed it down by the swing of her hand. We then built it up again. She then grew tired and had a little lie down.
"What's that?", she asked as I walked in with the photo that Rose can't get her eyes off. I then lied beside her, " JACK!", she pointed to correctly.
"Wh..wh.. what? You know him?", I asked her confused. She then nodded.
"He comes and plays with me sometimes. He went on the roller coaster with me. He showed me that place you sent me to. He gives me tips on drawing as well", my mouth dropped open over what she was saying . Can it possibly be him?
"You just get some sleep Josie. Here", I leaned over her, "I'll leave the image there", I stuck it to the wall.
"Ok", I then kissed her. I then left waiting for Rose to return.
Roses pov
I finished early and went back to pick up Josephine as promised.
"You want to go out?", George asked as I rocked up.
"Yeah mummy! We're going out to sea to get fish!", Josephine jumped for joy. Oh no.
"What do you say Rose? All aboard?", he looked at me with his clear blue eyes.
"I haven't been out to sea, a ship in a long time", he dragged me aboard.
"That's ok. Here put on life jacket on if you need", he handed one to me, "we're sailing west. That's where the bait fish are!", he went and started to turn the wheel. I feel sick.
"What's the matter mummy? Aren't you enjoying the ride?", I pulled Josephine to my chest to calm me down.
"Yeah. I'm just a bit sea sick is all. I haven't been in a boat in a long time. But it'll past", the boat jumped over waves with Josephine bouncing in my arms. I then saw water turning and breaking against the ship.
"Over there!", George dropped his massive net in. He then cast out a small rod for me and waited for a bite while the net was luring fish in. He then pulled up the net to reveal small bait fish and some Tuna. Josephine was over the moon jumping for joy seeing the creatures. Then he cut the net and fish jumped and squirmed everywhere. She bent down to touch the fish and jumped back knowing how slimy it was, "Josie! Come over here. I want to show you something. Do you remember that thing I told you to do?", she just nodded and proceeded to pick up one. She just laughed and smiled.
"Look mummy, I picked up my first fish", she showed me before it squirmed out of her hands with her giggling. She then helped him start clearing the small fish off the boat. While I waited for my bite. Then a massive bite hit and I wound it in quickly.
"Come on Rose. You can do it", I wound it in as fast and as strong as I could, "you're almost there Rose?", George cheered me on.
"Go Mummy", Josie clapped. I then reached the final stretched George leaned over ready to pick it up. He then grabbed the fish and helped me put it aboard.
"Would you look at that?", we looked at a fat Sword f fish flapping around," biggest one I've seen. Nice work partner", he patted me on the back, "perhaps a picture for the history books Rose. Come on and give me a smile", he got the camera out, "cheese", FLASH!
After that excitement we began clearing the boat deck of the smaller fish. George picked one up before he flung it over. I then stood up light headed and still sick from they stench of some dead fish. I then picked up the smallest one on my feet that made my stomach churn. We then kept all the good ones aboard and we went back to shore.
"Did you have fun?", I asked Josephine as she came back from washing her hands. She nodded, "well that's good", I cuddled her in my lap. Then somehow as we stared at the waves we both drifted to sleep.
George Pov
I kept driving as Rose and Josie rocked back and forth on deck together. I know Rose is tired. A women that works all day long then has to raise a child like Josie. It must be hard and draining for her. Plus I'm sure she also naps with Josie, who missed hers today. But that's alright, she had good a time doing this instead.
As we pulled into port I dropped the anchor and moved the girls in the cabin area. I put them both in together in the same bed. With the boys picture that Rose looks at pinned against the wall for them. I looked at them then the photograph. I then left searching for some old things while the girls were sleeping.
