Roses Pov

I opened my eyes to see a photo of Jack starring at me. He must of been 17 there. He looks a lot more younger then when I met him. I then turned my head to our daughter Josephine who was sleeping soundly. I smiled at her then looked to Jack. I then sat up and quietly took the photo down. I then slowly crawled out of bed only to see George sitting down at the table with a box of stuff.

"Rose", he said as I continued to look and analyse the picture.

"What is this picture? Where did you get it from?", I asked.

"It's a picture of my crew. From many, many years ago", he answered as I continued to examine the photograph, "you know one of them don't you?", I then shockingly looked at him. He then got up and walked over to me. Over looking my shoulder. He then pointed, "Jack", a bomb then went off in my body, "I know you do. You think I can't tell? I'm not an old blind fool Rose. Not yet", he walked back and sat down in his seat.

"Ho..ho..how long have you known?", I stood trying to hold me ground.

"When you kept staring at it. Then Josephine..-", I felt an earthquake ripple through my body, "she's his child isn't she? She's Jack child", I then stood frozen in time. He's knows. It's out. Their is no going back. I stood there saying nothing, "I'm not that stupid Rose. When I looked at you looking at the picture and then Josephine came along. The pieces just all added up. Common sense really. Plus she's exactly like him. How is she not his child? Please Rose just sit. You.. You haven't moved", I then looked at him before I sat down across the table from him.

"I dug up some old stuff of Jacks that maybe you'll like to have. Like his old portfolios as well as journals and pictures", he slowly walked over to me with an old art book, "he certainly had talent. I had Josie trace over some. She seems to enjoy and lived up to his talent", my fingers trailed the dusty old book. I then opened it to see Jacks old drawings. Nothing of his art form had changed. Still sketching all their features. As well as cross hatching lines. Adding texture to their clothes and making them come alive and have a personality.

"So you'd you meet him?", he lit a cigar. I remained quiet and continued to look through. It brought me back of all the memories of him. Him drawing me naked before running down below decks and creating Josephine. Then him getting arrested. And the cold cold, cold water. I then started cry, "how did you meet him?", he asked again. I then began to cry, "what? What happened? Rose"

"The water. It was so, so so cold", I began to break down.

"Here", he handed me a tissue, "I've.. I've got a photo here. Of.. of his family", I wiped my eyes and looked. "There. There he is", he pointed to a small boy with the biggest cheeky grin that his daughter has. He also had really straight hair as a bob cut. He was a little cheeky toddler. He looks about three years old, "that's his father Daniel. His elder brother and sister, James and Jewels", he pointed to a boy who looked like an older mature Jack with dark brown hair. While his sister stood beside him almost the same height but smaller, "and that's their mother. Miriam", George's tears struggled to fall from his eyes while his hand shook, "she's my daughter", his hand wobbled while my head and body was a different world. His daughter is Jacks mother. Which means that he is Jack grandfather which means that he is Josephine Great-Grandfather.

"But.. but. But that means that you're her..", I mumbled.

"That's right Rose. I'm Josies Great- grandfather ", I then immediately hugged him crying.

"Please don't take her from me. Please don't! She's all I have left. She's all I have of him", I cried to him. Knowing that I have no parental rights especially when an elder man who is a distant relative is still alive. He had more authority over the child then I do as a mother. He is her Great-Grandfather.
