Roses pov
As my filming days were counting down. We began packing up the house and John was helping us. He is coming with us. Josephine is excited about it she's never had a real friend before besides me. Once we get back to New York she will be starting school. Me and John have taught her a whole range of things for school so she fits in and is top of the class.
John has sold his house and resigned from his job to be with me and Josie. I can't think of anyone who could do that? His whole life is here and now he's shut up shop to move to the Big Apple with a big hot shot movie and her daughter that has no father. For someone to put everything on the line to be with them is love. Jack was love. I know it, Josie knows it. He told us that himself. And no matter what happens in the future he will always be with us.
"You all packed?", John loaded the last bag into the back of taxi. That was completely full with me and Josies stuff. And with Johns included it looks like it's about pop.
"Yeah!", Josie jumped holding my hand. I just smiled at her. We've done everything here. Even more than I ever hoped. John then pushed the boot down multiple times till it clicked.
"Well I'll lock up while you two get in the car", he took the keys off me shaking off his arm.
"You heard John Josie. Hop in the car", she then happily skipped and jumped in. She sat on my lap looking out the window.
"What will happen when we get back to New York mummy?", she asked as I cuddled her.
"We'll go back and see your aunts and uncles", I told her.
"What about John? Will he stay with us?", she asked playing with her dress.
"I don't know. I hope so", I told her the truth, "hopefully he can stand your aunts and uncles", we both laughed.
"Well everything's packed", John came in and sat with me and Josie moving over making space for him.
"Train station please", I told the driver as Josie got settled in the middle.
"As you wish", John looked at me smiling that he is coming along with us. He then paid attention to Josephine who wanted to see out the window.
"Here", John lifted her onto his lap, giggling and tickling her.
"Bye bye pier. Bye bye triple G", she sat up looking at all things that passed us.
"Yeah bye bye to my work", John joined her as the pier went past. Josie then looked back at me knowing what she said. She then gave me a slight smile and got comfy and settled in Johns arms. She then fell asleep. We then got to the station and we left her in the car while John and me unloaded our bags.
"What will you do when we get back in New York?", I asked him as I pulled bags from the car knowing that he has no plan other than to follow us in whatever we will do.
"What ever I want to", he put the last bag on the cart to be wheeled onto the train, "as long as I have you and Josie by my side I know I will be happy in anything I do", he gently kissed me smiling happily. He then went into the cab and picked up Josephine, "think she'll be out the whole ride", he shut the door letting the cabbie drive off.
"Oh come on", he held my five year old daughter in his arms as I wondered into the train, "here", I put the seat up so she could sleep on the bed. John then laid her down and we put our bags on the top rack. John and I then got comfortable and sat together just watching Josie sleep.
"Anything I should know about your friends?", he asked.
"Well. Heidi is crazy I can tell you that", we both laughed, "she is married to my good friend Molly Browns son Sam. Ummm then there's Cathleen and she got married to Christopher and they have a baby girl named Jane. They also have two other kids that are Cathleen's younger siblings, Jesse and Charlie that they take care of. Then there's Cathy and she's my best friend in the world. Last time I heard she was courting a film director"
"Really?"
"Yeah. And we're all actresses. Some of us may have dropped out. Heidi", I coughed making him laugh even more, "And Cathy helps out with Chris at the pub"
"And that's it? That's all their is to know about them?", he asked smiling not believing me.
"Well yes", I chuckled. He just wants to make a good impression to them.
"Well what about when you first met them? You haven't told me that", he looked at me with his loving eyes.
"Well. I was wondering around the streets of New York and I stumbled upon a theatre and they were holding auditions. So I went in and I needed the money and I met them all there. They walked up to me and complemented me on my performance and asked if I had anywhere to stay. Which I was surprised that they picked up on. And so they invited me back to their house. They had an extra bed for me from a girl who left a few months before me. And I was there ever since", I thought of the time I got sick when they all helped out especially Cathy. Taking me to the doctors discovering I was pregnant with Josie.
"What? What are you thinking about?", he asked as his hand warmly rubbed my leg.
"I don't know where I would be without them", tears steamed from my eyes, "if I didn't walk into that audition and meet them. I wouldn't be here right now with you. Or maybe even Josie", I started to cry thinking about when I blacked out immediately after she was born. And how scared I was alone when I was in labour.
"It's alright", he put his arm around the back of me and kissed my cheek.
"I don't know where I would be without those girls John. I own everything to them now", I hugged him. Making me feel safe and warm.
"I don't know where I would be without them either. Considering they made you persist in your acting career and that's what lead you to Santa Monica with me didn't it", he smiled.
"You really have a way with words don't you?", I cupped his chin.
"Why? you think they will be impressed?", he asked.
"Yes. Well, we're girls. Everything we've found interesting in a man we love", I let my fingers walk up his chest.
"Really?"
"Well I was pregnant so..",
"That shouldn't stop you", he told me.
"Yes. And it didn't", I smiled, "when Cathleen got assaulted we went to a pub. I was five or six months at the time. And I got up and danced up on stage by myself. Well then someone came up and versed me"
"And did he beat you?", he leaned in more trying to rub it into my face.
"No! He was nowhere near. But we had a good time. I only hope Josephine got those genes", I sat back looking at her sleeping.
"I hope so too", John leaned on me and we kissed. We kept going down till we heard Josephine move. We then stopped and looked at her as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. As she was doing that we got up and made ourselves presentable like nothing happened before hand. She then cleared her eyes and we were both on our knees at her bed.
"Hey Josie"
"How was your sleep?", we both looked at her. But she looked back shocked and confused. She's still tired.
"Oh come here", John picked her up and took her back to our seat. She then just shut her eyes as he hugged/held her.
"Mummy when will we arrive in New York?", she asked as she yawned.
"In a few days sweetheart", I brushed a curl from her face, "a few days", I kissed her forehead brushing her silky soft skin.
"I want to see Aunt Heidi and Uncle Sam again", she said before she burried her head into Johns arm. I then continued to stroke her as John just looked at me. Before I looked up at him and we kissed. To our new future together.
