This is my first book ever so please, don't kill me for an awful plot and even worse spelling and grammar mistakes! Apart from that, enjoy.

PROLOGUE

To put it simply, Cassandra Gates was having a pretty crappy week.

First off, her boyfriend, Liam, of seven months dumped her for the 'best friend', claiming they have been in love and seeing each other secretly for the past month and a half. Safe to say she and Emily no longer call themselves best friends anymore.

Secondly, she had to walk home from her solo dance session in the rain. And by rain, it would be more useful if someone threw constant bucketsful of water at her. And on her way home, she was dragged into the back of a van and blindfolded. This is around the time she realises that accepting a lift home from her friends every now and again would be helpful.

Thirdly, she has been dragged to the supposed 'criminal mastermind's' lair, only to be tied to a chair with ridiculously thick rope. Probably a bad idea to have left the wilderness explorers group when she was eight, otherwise she could have found a way to untie the stupid thing that was wrapped around her and the chair and was basically compressing them into one being.

And finally, when her supposed 'rescuer' comes to get her out of the situation, he ends up getting knocked out and tied to another chair with titanium chains and is still unconscious. Her kidnapper is in the middle of a rant explaining how intellectually awesome he is as well as supernaturally gifted.

So yeah, things can't get much worse than this... that is until she remembers she has an algebra test the next day that she hasn't studied for and is supposed to be supervised by the very teacher who is out to ruin her academic and social life. That is if she manages to get out of her current situation alive.

Now, that has got to be the stupid cherry on top of the messed up cake that is her life.

Lovely.
