I knew that sound. It meant there were no bullets in his gun. I opened my eyes to see if I was still alive, everything was blurry at first then I saw his face. He took off his mask.
"Gotcha!" he said laughing. It was Peter! My friend Peter!
"W-what? Why? Whats going on and why?" I said with confusion filling my dead voice.
"Prank accomplished! You should have seen the look on your face. " he said as he laughed and laughed and laughed.
"That's it! Never talk to me again you maniac bastard! How could you do this to me you fucking bitch!? I thought I was going to die! I was terrified! It's over I never want to see your face again and if you like the way you look you'd better stay away or else I'll break your damn ugly nose!" I shouted with my voice filled with hatred and anger. I walked off as he ran after me yelling and pouting.
"It was just a prank! Your alive and nothing happened, jeez come on! Stop being a baby!"
I kept walking not even thinking of turning to face him. After what he had done I was sure it was the end of our friendship. After one and a half years of being friends, true we did pranks on each other, but no prank could ever even be slightly as similar or effective as the prank he did!
I made my way home barely walking due to the shock that still haunted me. My legs were still shivering and my heart still pounding. I kept re-watching the whole scene in my mind, over and over again. It seemed my legs knew how to reach the apartment because I sure wasn't able to think correctly enough to know where I was going. It seemed Peter eventually stopped following me on the way, I didn't care. I'm alive and safe at home.
I took off my cloths and went to drink some water. My mouth, tongue and body yelled for it, I was completely dehydrated. After about an hour of thinking I regained full consciousness and got into bed. I was so tired I instantly fell into a deep sleep, even if the apartment burned down I probably wouldn't wake up.
In the morning I woke up and looked at the clock in shock. It's ten twenty five, im late for collage! I jumped out of bed almost tripping on my own feet and started pulling and buttoning to wear my cloths. I went by the front door to wear my shoes and froze. Wait, what? Isn't? Damn it I'm so stupid today's Saturday, I'm free today. I always forgot that Saturday's and Sunday's were weekend's but I still have work on Sunday.
I decided on making myself some cereal. Easy, quick, nutritious and tasty following with TV and some time to relax. This should get me back to normal. I picked up the box of chocolate flake cereal and poured it in the milk watching as the flakes dove in and floated. I turned on the TV, filled my spoon with cereal and milk and just as I was about to eat I heard a knock on my window. I turned to see it was Peter. Just what I needed, I grabbed the wooden bat I had hidden under the couch and walked outside.
"Didn't I tell you to fuck off?" I said while walking to him aggressively with an angry face.
"Just listen Mike! Hear what I have to say and then you can do what you want"
I ran towards him not caring what he had to say, what he did was unforgivable.
"Wait!" He yelled as I cut the air to hit him, he dodged my first swing. "Stop, your going to hit me damn it!"
"What do you think I'm trying to do!" I barked.
He kept dodging and running until we both lost our breaths and fell on the grass under the hot sun.
"Mike, I swear man, I would never hurt you, your my bro! I saw you walking at night and I just had to do it. I couldn't resist and the gun was fake. You know I do stupid shit all the time but I know I messed up. I regret it!"
Me and Peter were perfect pals. We had a lot of fun together and stood by each others side all the time, he also helped me find the apartment I'm living in currently.
"For the memories and friendship we had I'm going to let you go without hurting you, I don't want to see you! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
I went back inside as Peter raised himself from the ground and walked away looking down.
I hid the bat and ate a little of my meal while watching TV, I didn't eat much though, Peter had totally ruined my Saturday morning.
At noon I decided to mow the lawn, I did it perfectly just like always and returned the lawnmower. I cut the grass around the flowers with scissors since the lawnmower couldn't cut the grass there without cutting the flowers with it. I finished the garden and went inside to study for Monday's exam. I studied until four in the afternoon and decided to go to the library to look for some books that could teach me some new things, things that helped me in architecture of course. On my way walking I passed by a new car dealer that had just opened so I decided to go in and check out the cars.
I had 5 thousand dollars in cash saved up but I knew cars were three times more expensive. What if I took a loan from the bank? With the raise I had gotten I could pay monthly and still have enough money for my random needs. I walk in to see all sorts of cars brand new, shiny and sparkly in all colors like black, red, orange, blue and many others with custom paint jobs. The dealer walked me around showing me all the cars and there prices. Through all the cars I saw one which I thought was perfect for me. Fast, strong, durable, light, doesn't use up a lot of gas and can get me wherever I need to go.
"How much for this one?"
"Ah, the Toyota Corolla. It cost 18,000 dollars in cash"
I got a good look at it. Should I buy it? It looks great. I'd have to take a 13 thousand dollar loan from the bank. I thanked the dealer and made my way through all the different cars to the exit, continuing my path to the library feeling excited to find some new books.
