It was only a matter of seconds until I heard the clash of metal, there was no time to re act and the news truck was rammed and demolished. A few car parts detached and flew as the black car flipped in the air and landed upside down. The news truck lost balance and was pushed away from the force of the crash, causing it to suddenly fall on a man in his fourties that was passing by with it, he ran but wasn't quick enough and it landed on his legs. He yelled as loud as he could from the pain. Moments after the vehicles collided I sighted people on the ground injured. Havoc spread and the car lit on fire. If I don't do something that car is going to explode killing the innocent man that laid as the truck crushed his feet. I saw two police men run my way.

"Come this way, it's about to explode! There are innocent people there!"

All they heard was 'explode' and 'innocent' and they flew to me. We ran through the smoke and tried the pick up the truck to free the man but it was too heavy, seconds later more police officers arrived and they were able to lift it enough for me to pull him out. The man was unconscious most likely because of the pain and fear that built up inside him. We started warning others to move as far as possible out of explosion radius. Then I noticed there was still someone in the drivers seat of the black car. The vehicle was about to explode any second. I was tired, my body ached and became sore as my lungs were out of breath. I ran towards the the man without thinking twice, my body just moved as the officers yelled after me not bothering to move any closer, afraid. What I was doing was suicide but, there's still a chance damn it! There's still a God damn chance! I pulled the jammed door twice with all my strength and it yanked open. The drivers face was in the airbag, blood ran down his chin to his forhead and leaked falling on the ceiling because the car was upside down. It got hotter and hotter! The hood lit up in flames. No! That's bad, very very bad! I ripped off his seat belt as his body fell down with the gravity. I pulled him out and lifted him over my shoulder as I turned around running as fast as I could as the car became engulfed with flames. There were lights everywhere and I didn't care which way I ran as long as it's away, away from death. The heavy weight slowed me down. At that moment I heard a yell from the anchorman that was still alive.

     "It's about to explode! RUN!"
OH NO! Suddenly, an explosion shook the earth, an explosion so powerful that everyone felt the ground as they fell instantly. Everything blacked out and all I could hear was sirens and screams.

I regained consciousness feeling a cool breeze on my skin and there was no noise. I opened my eyes quietly as white beams of light blinded me temporarily, moments later my blurry vision started clearing and I noticed that I was in a hospital, laying down on a bed that was very cozy and relaxing. I sat up to see if I had any injuries and my shoulder and wrist started to ache, my body was sore and there were scratches and bruises all over me. I was wearing a blue hospital gown with black dog footprints on it. I stood on my feet and dragged over to the closet. I took my clothes off the hanger so I could change into them when the door opened and a nurse walked in.

"I see you're finally awake. It was amazing what you did out there, your all over the news!"

"Thanks, the guy I carried, is he ok?"

"Thanks to you he's doing well, though he is highly injured from the crash and he inhaled alot of smoke from the fire as well as having some other burns and bruises, but, no need to worry we fixed him up."

"Thank God, good job. How long have I been sleeping?"

"Around eight and a half hours." She said while putting the files in her hand on the table by the window. I looked at the clock, it was 10 AM. I redirected my eyes to the table by the window, it had many flowers on it in different vases, each group of flours had a card hanging down from them.

"I'm just going to see how you're doing and your good to go."

The nurse finished the tests and did the final checkup, I was good to go.

"I'll leave you so you get dressed. A wheel chair will be brought to you in minutes."

I wore my cloths, they were washed and a fresh scent of flowers filled my nose. I walked over to the flowers on the table.

"Get well soon my friend. From Drake."

"Hope you feel better bud, you're  probably still mad at me but I went to check on your apartment while your at the hospital and everything's fine as usual. Peter." Hah that idiot. He may do some stupid things but he's still my best friend after all.

I scanned through the rest of the cards, some from friends at college, others from employees at work. It seems they all visited me when I was out. The last one was from the Princler Family, but where have I heard that name? The red and blue flowers on the card illuminated as I opened it to see whats written.

     "Dear Mike,
We hope that you feel better quickly, we all were very worried about you. What you did out there proved how kind hearted you are, I'm sure everyone who saw you on the news thinks you're a hero! You're in for a special treat from the cafe. We decided it would be great for you to have it, even though what you did for us can never be repaid by money or such a simple gift. We're looking forward to seeing you soon.
     Yours sincerely,
     The Princer family."

It had to be Matthew, Rose and Elizabeth. I gathered all my things and headed out. Leaving the hospital was a good feeling, the halls weren't the same as the halls in the hospital Matthew was in on the East . It must be the one on the West side of town. They still were the same distance away from my home. When I arrived at my apartment flowers, mail and 'thank you' posters were in front of my door. They were all letters to get well soon and letters of thank from many different people. There was also a CD that had 'Hero' written on it. I walked inside carrying everything with me and displayed the CD on the TV. The content was actually very surprising.
