The CD contains the news report of the accident. I watched quietly, the details that were being mentioned were bright.
"Breaking news! Yesterday was an almost very sad day in Elkhart Indiana. A car accident caused by a driver named 'Robert Vinley' in a black vehicle crashed directly into the ECN ( Elkhart Central News ) truck Wednesday night. The anchorman was about was about to interview a local of his accomplishments when the tragic event happened causing the truck to fall on an innocent man's legs. Fortunately even though the black vehicle exploded, there was no deaths and only a few injuries. The driver 'Robert Vinley' who was driving the black vehicle was saved by the local Mike Bright and after taking Robert to the hospital it was known that his blood pressure had suddenly increased causing him to pass out while driving.
"Wait, Robert Vinley? Now I remember. He's the rich kid from my cad class, I thought I recognized his face somewhere."
"Once Robert re gained consciousness, he didn't believe what happened. He decided to pay for all of the damages and apologized. If not for the local Mike Bright that did a big role in helping the police save the man under the truck and Robert than it would have been a very horrible and sad day. Mike saved Robert right before the car exploded then both Mike and Robert were taken to Elkhart West Hospital by the ambulance. Here's a video of our hero recorded by a local at the sight."
I watched the video with my sky blue eye's wide open. Was that really me? At the time I didn't have any time to think. A big smile spread on my face and excitement pumped from my heart to every inch of my body.
"Man that was cool!" I said to my hyper self.
Admiring the footage and the video recording until the end. I pulled out my Samsung Galaxy 7+ from my pocket and notifications flooded the screen as I connected to the internet. There was a lot of texts, tags and other notifications. I walked over to the mirror in my bedroom to take a quick glance at myself.
"Oh my God, I'm a total mess!" I mumbled.
My light brown finger length hair was filled with dust, I had a big scratch on my right wrist that had turned into a bruise. My bottom lip stung when I noticed it had a little rip on it, I must have bit it without noticing when I fell. By beard and mustache had appeared since I haven’t shaved for two days. I usually shave it quickly everyday.
I didn't like it when it grew even just a little because it's annoying when I scratch my cheek. I took off my shirt and I entered to bathroom to shave. The bathroom was simple, sink, mirror, toilet and shower spread around in the 4x3 meter room. It was more than enough for me.
I spread the shaving cream on my face reaching for the stainless steel barber razor that I always used. I swung it open from its closed form and changed the blade as I moved my face closer to the mirror focusing on my beard. I pulled the razor nearer and then heard a 'Ding dong' as the bell chimed. I let a out a breath.
"What perfect timing." I huffed as I thought of who it could be.
I walked to the door half naked wearing only blue jeans, my beard covered with shaving cream and the razor still in my hand. I opened the door as the tip of my eye saw red. A soft "Hi" hit my ear and my censes struck me as a chill flew down my spine. It was Rose as soon as she saw me her face turned crimson and she instantly turned away."Hey, hold on let me get something on." I said while turning around and sprinting quickly to the bathroom. I put back the razor and went to my room, putting on my black NY t-shirt so fast that I forgot my face was covered with shaving cream, now white was all over my shirt.
"Damn it!" I barked as I wiped my face with a tissue and wore any other shirt in sight. I walked out to see Rose sitting on the black leather couch.
"Sorry you had to see me like that."
"No, it's ok." She said smiling.
"Would you like anything to drink?"
"A cup of water please."
I glided to the kitchen and filled a cup with water and tried not to spill any of it on my way back.
"Here's your water, so is there anything wrong?" I wondered.
"No, I thought I'd come to see you after what happened. We all got so surprised when we saw the news. What you did was awesome!"
"Doing nothing wasn't right, I had to do something."
"Yeah true. I can't believe what happened. What a coincidence that it was Robert who crashed into the truck, he's always careful when he drives his car. Everyone knows how much he love's it."
"It was a surprise to me too. I'm planning on visiting him at the hospital, I hope he's ok." I said as Rose drank her water. We sat quietly for a minute. Then she started gazing around at the specs of the room.
"I love you're apartment."
"Thanks, I change the furniture layout once every few weeks."
"It's nice, you got good taste me friend."
"Thanks. I'm glad yuh like it."
"So, how’s your parents? How’s Matthew feeling?"
"They're all good, dad is getting better day by day. By the way, Mrs. Right gave a speech to all the students about how they should all be like you."
Mrs. Right was our designing professor and she was the toughest professor I ever met. She had never complimented or admired anyone in her life. No one ever messed with her and all the other professors respected her greatly. Not one person had ever had the nerve to so much as roll an eye at her.
"Wow, Mrs. Right? The toughest professor at college, doing that? Pretty hard to believe."
"I know, everyone was surprised. We kept reminding our selves of what happened just incase it was a dream." Rose chuckled.
A horn beeped outside and Rose stood.
"That must be my mom, I've got to go. Are you coming to college tomorrow? You need to catch up, we've taken a lot of new subjects."
"Yeah see you tomorrow then." I said while we walked to the door.
"Take care." I hollered as she entered the silver Cerato. We waved goodbye and I watched as Rose and her mom drove away disappearing after they turned at the corner.
"Ok, the plan for tomorrow is: one, get up early. Two, go to college and catch up on everything. Three come back home, rest, eat and head out to work and finally four, sleep early."
"Wait." I took out a breath. I still haven't shaved. I got carried away about tomorrow that I forgot the present. I went to the bathroom and paused.
"Maybe I should change my style." I stared at my beard in the mirror. "Shaving it everyday has gotten old". I decided to not wipe it off completely as always, I'll just shave my beard lighter than it is now. I carefully shaved making my beard as neat as possible. Making the sides of my mustache fall perfectly straight down landing on my beard.
"Arabic style baby, that's the way to go."
I got dressed and went out to the hospital to see Robert.
