"You paid the rest of the twenty?"
Elizabeth said in surprise as Rose stood speechless. Not Elizabeth nor Rose would expect me to pay. Matthew's life was far more important than a car and I wouldn't hesitate so much as a second to decide sacrificing buying the car I wished to have so that I could save Matthew's life. Before I left the hospital I told Elizabeth to get me a paper from the nurse about Matthew's condition, in the meanwhile I told the doctor the money was going to be paid and all I had to do was bring it so that they would start operating as soon as possible. He made me sign some papers to guarantee that I would bring the money and I went back to Elizabeth without her knowing what I did. I took the paper from her and told her to go back by Matthew as I went downstairs, talked to Rose and went home. On my way hope I stopped by the car dealer to cut the contract between us that I would buy the car though I knew that was unacceptable since I signed the papers which indicated that I must buy the car after saying I would. I showed them the paper of Matthews condition so they would understand the state I'm in and they decided to cut the contract. I then took the check that was 13,750$ and added 250$ to it from my savings and headed back to the hospital stopping on my way to buy the food and fruit.
"Yes." I replied. Rose sat down in shock. She then stood and ran towards me giving me a big hug as she cried on my chest once again.
"Thank you! I don't know what we would have done without you. You saved my dad!" She said to my chest as she wept. My face turned crimson and warmth rapped around me. I think I almost forgot who Rose was. She lifted her face looking at my eyes as I looked at hers. Blood ran through her face filling it with life making her look more beautiful than ever. Her hair over her shoulder looking like red silk. It was then that I felt a spark of warmth since a very long time.
"He's your dad but I'm his favorite customer so it's no big deal." I smiled.
"Second favorite customer." She said as we laughed eventually realizing her hands were still around me and pushed away as blush washed over her face. Elizabeth laughed at the sight.
I made sure they didn't need anything and left the hospital. It had become four AM in the morning.
"I wish today was a weekend." I sighed.
I couldn't skip college it was too important, but, it wont hurt much taking a day off work, I'll call in sick. Very tired and barely being able to keep my eyes open, I reached my apartment and dropped myself on my bed as if the angel of death had ripped out my soul and leaving only my corps to lay. I eventually got up not wanting to sleep so I don't miss collage. I went to make a cup of coffee to charge me with some energy, took a shower and drank my coffee. I had a healthy breakfast filled with energy, changed my cloths and walked out the door closing it after me. I tripped around three time while walking to collage and almost walked into a pole. Jeez, I need to get myself together. I slept through my lectures as I left my phone to record so I could see the lectures later. By the time I finished all my classes it was two PM and my eyes were screaming for sleep. I managed to reach home and faint on my bed not knowing if I even closed the doors behind me. I should go check just incase. Ok, doors closed, going to sleep.
I woke up to the rays of sunlight that crawled in through the window. It made a quick breakfast as usual and went out to an ordinary day.
I decided to visited Matthew after work,I bought flowers and a get well soon card on my way. When I finally reached the hospital I found that Elizabeth was sitting by him and Matthew was asleep.
"Shhh, he just fell asleep." She whispered.
I whispered a 'Hi' as she smiled back and stealthily glided over by the window and put the flowers in a vase with fresh water, leaving the card on the table beside Matthew's head as I whispered a goodbye and walked out the door slowly closing it carefully to avoid making any noticeable sound.
It's nice seeing Matthew better than before, he's a good man and deserves a good life. I walked back home in the quiet night, it was as it always was. As I walked I eventually reached a point where I saw a news truck downtown. As I walked by, the anchorman stopped me.
"Hello sir, we are interviewing locals to give us a summary of there lives and what they have accomplished. We wish to make a motivation video to help motivate all the young boys and girls who need it."
I've never been on TV before neither have I thought to be in this time. I wasn't the type of guy who liked attention or to be seen by thousands, probably millions of people, but, the purpose of it was good, so should I do it? My face switched red, it always did in awkward moments, I'll do it! No reason not to.
"Sure, why not?"
"Ok great we'll give you a minute to think of what to say."
Perfect, now what have I accomplished? I studied hard and got good grades at school, I work, go to collage and maintain high grades, I take care of myself and my intentions in studying and career are high. I then heard some weird sounds, sound of an engine and tires drifting. I locked my eyes to the street as everyone else did to see a car out of control. What was going on? Could the driver be drunk or maybe he's running from someone. The car was black with yellow thunderbolts on the sides and it was coming our direction and when I say our direction I mean straight towards the news truck.
