Roman sighed. He was bored. He didn't know what to do. He decided to go talk to Virgil. Maybe he had an idea of what to do. He knocked on the door, but he got no answer. Weird. He opened the door slightly, no one was there. He walked into the room, looking around. He saw nothing except, wait.. Did Virgil get a new mirror? It was so pretty. Roman walked over to it, entranced. He went to feel the frame, it was so beautifully carved. He looked at the mirror closely, it had little numbers engraved into it. He couldn't read them, they were too small. Roman went to touch the mirror glass. As soon as he touched the mirror, it rippled. The whole mirror rippled, like a pebble touching the ocean. He stepped back in fright. He rubbed his eyes, and touched the mirror again. Nothing happened. "Whatever." He mumbled to himself, walking out of the room.

Virgil, Patton and Logan were cleaning up the game they were playing. Logan put away the board when Virgil began to glow. Like, actually glow. Patton started to freak out when he himself started glowing. Logan didn't know what to do. He wanted to help, but he had no idea what was going on. Suddenly, Virgil and Patton were dropped to the ground. Logan ran over to lift them up when he saw their hair. Virgil looked up. "Please oh please tell me I don't look like a girl." Virgil said, groaning. Logan slowly nodded. Virgil looked over at Patton. He too, had the appearance of a girl version of himself. "ROMAN" He yelled upstairs, looking pretty pissed. Roman made his way down the stairs, visibly confused. He looked down upon Logan, pacing back and forth. He looked and also saw a girl who resembled Virgil, dark, short, long-ish hair, dark under eye circles, and an oversized black sweatshirt with ripped black jeans. Next to this girl was another girl who wore the exact same outfit as Patton. Blue shirt with cargo pants. She had shoulder length hair. All of them except the girl wearing black looked utterly confused. The girl wearing black looked pissed. "First, who are you? Second, where's Virgil?" Roman asked, raising an eyebrow. "I'm Virgil, this is Patton. Now Roman, did you go in my room?" Virgil spat, gritting his teeth. Roman thought Virgil was very pretty as a girl. Wait. Why was Virgil a girl? "Well, yes but-" Roman said, getting cut off by Virgil. "Did you touch the mirror in my room?" Virgil asked, instinctively running his hand through his hair. Roman slowly nodded. "Sorry..." Roman mumbled, scratching his head. "Wha... What did I do?" Roman asked quietly, worried. "It's a stupid-ass magic mirror." Virgil muttered, getting a glare from Patton for swearing. Roman raised his eyebrows. "What? You? Something magic? And you have it?" Roman accused, immediately regretting his sour tone.
"Thanks." Virgil sassed, brushing past Roman and walking up to his room. Roman tried to say something but he couldn't figure out what to say. Patton sighed, pushing Roman aside and walking up to Virgil's room. Logan was just standing there, muttering to himself. "But... magic isn't real." He muttered, shaking his head. Roman sighed and sat down on the step. Virgil was up in his room, his long hair hanging around his head. He combed his fingers through his hair, it hurt, but it calmed him. Maybe when he went back to being a guy, he should grow out his hair. Pulling his fingers through his knotted hair didn't hurt as much as cutting, but it helped as a way of therapy. It worked. He tried to stop the tears. There was no reason to it. The only possible reason was because he was going to be stuck as a female for two days. It was not that long, and he had no reason to care. It would be just the same as always except... except he'd have long hair, and wait... was his? Was that different too? He looked down the front of his shirt. Yup. Yup he had that too now. Great. He heard a knock on the door. He hoped it wasn't Roman. "It's me, Patton." Virgil crossed his fingers that it wasn't anyone pretending to be Patton. "Come in" He said, voice hoarse. The door opened as a head appeared beside the door. Virgil watched as the long hair appeared beside it. He stepped in and Virgil sighed. "Hey Kiddo," Patton said, sitting down beside Virgil. He hung an arm around the younger boy. "Am I supposed to call you... Mom?" Virgil asked, looking at Patton with the look of a child. "Nah, I'm still a man on the inside. Dad is just fine." Virgil laughed. "You were never a man in the first place. You're a boy."
Patton smiled. "True. So how long are we stuck like this?" Patton asked, pulling at his own long hair before wincing in pain. "It should be just two days." Virgil said, shrugging. "How does the 'magic' mirror work? When did you get it?" Patton asked, sitting up straighter. Virgil sighed, "It's a long story about how I got the mirror, but uh, it does this thing where if you touch it, it swaps a persons gender for a day. That is, the first time. The second time, which is this time, it switched two people, me and you, and hopefully, just for two days. Hopefully that wasn't too confusing." Virgil explained. "Wait, there was a first time?" Patton asked. "I fell off my bed. It used to be beside my bed. I moved it. That's probably why Roman touched it. He probably thought it was new." Virgil explained, unconsciously braiding a piece of his hair. He didn't even know how to braid, it just came naturally. "Are you... mad at Roman?" Patton asked, wondering how Virgil's hair fell perfectly on his face. Patton had had a crush on Virgil for a while and the fact that he was currently sitting next to him, was making his heart flutter. "Not really. I just, I don't know really." Virgil looked up at Patton. He moved forward so that he was now lying down beside Patton. Patton smiled sweetly. Virgil had to cover his face so Patton wouldn't see him blushing. Virgil didn't know why he blushed, but it might've been because Patton just looked so freaking cute as smiling.
Patton put his hand down beside his leg out of habit. Virgil noticed it. "Screw it" Virgil said under his breath. Virgil slowly moved his own hand towards Patton's until it was on top. The two of them looked at each other and blushed. Neither of them argued. Patton slipped his fingers inbetween Virgil's.
"I guess we're stuck together."
