We walked out towards the living room, but John grabbed us both by the arm and yanked us into the kitchen. Nine and I exchanged a glance before sitting down. John turned to the table and did a quick head count then sighed. He then explained his encounter with three Mogadorians.
"You should have brought that last one back here," Nine pipped in. "We could've tortured something out of him like they did to us."
At that I had to suppress a scream, and I placed a hand over my mouth, closing my eyes, and gently shaking my head. "That's not what we do. We're better than that." John pressed on.
"It's war, Johnny." Nine sneered. I kicked Nine under the table, and he flinched, but stopped talking.
"What does this mean? Do they know where we are?" Marina asked, softly.
"I doubt it. If they were here for us, they'd have sent more than three. They didn't even recognize me when I approached." John explained.
"Yeah, and you're a famous Mogadorian killer. Weird." Eight pipped in.
"They'd have come be now if they were coming. They aren't exactly known for their subtlety. We need to figure out what these papers say. It could be kind of invasion plan." Six added, tossing the papers across the table to me. I stared at them, and shook my head, passing them to Nine.
"Just like my dream." Ella whispered. The papers reached Malcolm and he frowned.
"I spent time in captivity, but I never learned their language." He shrugged.
"You and me both," I sighed, running my hand through my hair.
"Pretty sure there's some translating software on Sandor's computer. Doubt it had Mogadorian, though." Nine shrugged.
"There are patterns here, like with all languages. This can be cracked. If you show me that software, I may be able to use it." Malcolm looked over to Nine, and he nodded. Then a few eyes turned to me.
"Ten, are you sure you don't know anything?" John asked. "You've spent more time in the cells than most of-"
"I don't!" I snapped, sighing roughly.
"This doesn't change anything." John nodded. "Whatever is in those documents, I'm sure it's something the Mogadorians don't want us to know. It's something we can use to our advantage. But, until we know for sure, we press on with the plan we've already made. Get some rest everyone; we leave for Florida in the morning."
Everyone cleared out of the room except me and Nine, he just sat there, looking at me weird as I stared at the table. "What's wrong?" He asked as soon as everyone left.
"Nothing," I shook my head, trying to think of anything, but Bion.
"I thought you'd back me up on the whole torture thing," he frowned and I took a shaky breath.
"It's hard to... to think about that when sometimes just words trigger memories." I mumbled, trying desperately to shake the thoughts.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" He snapped. I stood up quickly, groaning at his obliviousness.
"You just don't know when to stop do you?" I laughed and Nine looked confused.
"The hell you talking about?"
"Whatever. It doesn't matter. You wouldn't understand anyway." I groaned, walking to the door. Nine quickly stood up and followed.
"Then help me understand. I can listen you know!" He exclaimed. I spun on my heels, and glowered at him.
"You say that, but at the same time you're talking." He shakes his head and moves forward a step
"I'll stop talking if that's what you want."
