The Birthday Girl, again

(3 months later)

"Happy Birthday Taylor!" they all shout

"Oh My god! Don't do that! You guys scared the crap out of me!" I laugh

I set my purse down on the counter and turn to face the group.

"Thanks guys. You're the best."

"I planned this!" Gabi says

"Wow, thanks Gabi." I look at her with a half sarcastic look.

She laughs. She was always the big planner of the group.

"Emma, did you make the cake? It looks delicious"

"Yup!" she says

I go over and kiss Mark on the cheek.

"Happy Birthday!" he says, giving me a giant hug

"Thanks Mark!"

"Alright! Let's Par-tay!" Gabi says

"Yeah!"

By party we mean, let's sit down, order a pizza and watch movies for 3 hours. We did that, except when the pizza got here, we sat down at the dining room table. They had gotten me some presents.

"Here, open mine first." Gabi Says

I open it. It was a copy of the movie I wanted and a 20$ iTunes gift card.

"Thanks Gab. I really like this movie. Maybe we'll watch it tonight."

She nods. The other things I end up getting are: Other Gift Cards, a new purse and a new camera case. Mark Hands me a small box and a card.

"Read the card first" he says

I take the card out of the envelope and read it. I see that Mark has written a little message on the bottom of the card.

Taylor,

If somebody ever asked me to describe my love for you, it would be impossible. I am at a loss for words for how much I love you. Something I never realized until just about a week ago was that this day last year was the day we met. I think if that had never happened we may never have known each other existed. I love waking up each day with you, if not with you than knowing I'll see you that day. I hope you like your gift. I saw it and I knew that you would like it. I love you, I hope we're together for a long time.

I feel the tears welling up in my eyes. That was so sweet. I smile at him and put the card down. I open the small red box. It was a silver necklace with a small flower charm. A yellow Rose. I smiled.

"Thank you Mark. So much."

"You're very welcome." He says.

"Alright, you guys ready for some movies?" Gabi says

"Yeah!" We all say. The 3 of them go into the other room. Mark follows me into the kitchen.

"That note was very sweet."

"It's the truth. Nobody can put into words how much I love you." He says

I reach up and give him a kiss. We both go into the living room together, and after watching just one movie, we fall asleep in each other's arms.
