This is gonna be another one of those chapters where the POV's flip flop every now and then.

"Alright, I'm going out to do some recording. If anything happens call me." Mark satys as he enters the room

"Mark I'll be fine. Don't worry. Plus Gabi's coming over later, she can help out."

"Still. I'm gonna be out till about 6. Want me to pick up dinner?" he says

"Pizza?"

"Sounds good. Love you." he says

"Love you too."

He leaves. I flick on the TV and lay down on the couch. I got so caught up in my show I was taken by surprise when the bell rang.

"It's open!"

"Hey! Its been a while!" Gabi says

"Its been a week."

"Shut the F up." she jokes

I laugh. It was so funny when she was annoyed with me.

"Hey I'm craving popcorn can you put a bag in for me? Please? I'll share!"

"Yeah sure." she says, heading into the kitchen.

She brings out the bowl of popcorn and pops a movie in. We sit and watch it for a while before I start to get uncomfortable.

"Hey, I kinda need to walk around a little. I have a stomach ache."

"Are you OK?" she asks

"Yeah. I just need to get up."

I wasn't really that worried. If it was labor I would be feeling some more intense pain right? I consulted my trust binder marked by month. I flipped past 9 months and straight to the labor section and start reading

No one can predict with certainty when labor will begin, the due date your doctor gives you is merely a point of reference. It is normal for labor to start as early as three weeks before that date or as late as two weeks after it.

Labor is typically divided into three stages:

Stage 1. The first stage of labor is the latent phase, is the longest and least intense. During this phase, contractions become more frequent, helping your cervix to dilate so your baby can pass through the birth canal. Discomfort at this stage is still minimal. During this phase, your cervix will dilate approximately 3 or 4 centimeters and efface, or thin out. If your contractions are regular, you will probably be admitted to the hospital during this stage and have frequent pelvic exams to determine how much the cervix is dilated. Although it's not unusual to experience periodic, irregular contractions (uterine muscle spasms) as your labor nears, contractions that occur at intervals of less than 10 minutes are usually an indication that labor has begun. Contractions will not be very intense at the very beggining, but will get much more intense as labor progresses.

I pick up the binder and take it back into the living room. I sit down on the couch with Gabi. She looks at me suspiciously.

"What's that?"

"My Pregnancy Binder, I wanted to check one of my symptoms."

"What's a matter?" she says

"I um. I have a stomach ache that gets more and less intense about every eight minutes. I have a slight suspicion that I might've just gone into labor."
