Slowly we fade, slowly we fall
Wherever you are, I'll heed the callTo come to your aid, no matter the time
To comfort you how I can, in song or rhymeBut who looks after me, you may ask?
Who but myself is up to the task?None, I fear, will heed my silent call
So here I crumble, here I fallBut I'll fall with a smile on my face
I'll tumble to the floor with graceI'll join the broken ones spread on the ground
And there among the others I'll be foundWhy do you hold me close, keep be here?
Can't you see the shine of my unshed tear?I wish to fly, I wish to cry, I wish to die
So next time you see me, ask yourself whyWhy you don't set me free?
Why do you keep me here for your selfish needs?Just consider my plight, my urge to take flight
For as long as I'm here, I'm naught but a blightUpon the wonders of this world the one you see
Above the green earth and below the blue seaSo many out there that I hear their plea
So many out there that I did help set freeSo now it's my turn, don't you think?
I'll be gone as soon as you blink."

PoetryA place of sorrow, of fear, of pain. A place of joy, of hope, of love. A place to cry out in fear. A place to shout in joy. A place to be myself, and hope not to be judged for who I am.
