Arabella's pov/thoughts
"Wake up! The sun is shining! It's a beautiful day!" I hear some shout as my bed shakes and dips.
I groggily open my eyes to see Elle jumping on my bed, screaming as loud as possible; I was surprised the neighbors hadn't called the police yet.
Just then we both heard a knocking, which didn't surprise me considering the amount of noise Elle was currently making.
Elle jumped down from my bed and quickly smoothed her pajamas before opening the door.
Instead of being met by an angry looking neighbor (although we are staying in a hotel, you know what I mean), Kate came marching in with a large box of donuts and a stern look on her face.
"What happened?" I ask as I look her over. Her jaw is clenched and her hands are balled into fists. She looks pissed as anything.
"All I was trying to do was get fucking donuts, but no! The whole time I was there, the worker practically undressed me with his eyes!" Kate ranted before throwing herself on the bed in frustration.
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad," I say as I awkwardly pay her back.
"Oh, did I mention he was like, 50 years old?" she adds sarcastically, "How the heck did he even get a job there!"
"I don't know," Elle said as she bit into a glazed donut, "Was he cute?"
All of a sudden, Kate looked up, giving Elle a wide eyed, fierce shake of the head, before flopping back down.
"Ew," I comment as I pick up my own donut.
As creepy as this may sound, I wasn't surprised someone was checking her out. Kate was really pretty and nice. Her fashion taste was exceptional and she had the curves and accents of a model, unlike myself. I was as straight as a board with very little figure, something I envied of both Kate and Elle very much. As well as their height.
"What time are we leaving?" I ask out of the blue, trying to start a conversation.
"Oh shit," Kate curses into the bed before finally sitting up, "I totally forgot about Vidcon."
Elle gasped and covered her mouth before checking the time. Apparently, she did too. Which surprised me, considering they'd been talking about it for the last couple of days.
"It starts in 30 minutes!" Elle shrieked and stood up abruptly.
"Sweet mother of corn, hurry up!" Kate ushers to me, pulling me up from my seat on a chair and pushing me in the direction of my suitcase.
I sense their urgency and quickly throw on the dress I had bought yesterday and my bracelets. I quickly applied makeup and threw my hair into an elegant Dutch braid. The layers in my wavy hair made it seem full, and gave off a cosy look.
"Let's go!" Elle barked to me and I threw on my sandals as fast as I could while grabbing my essentials; sunglasses, gum, wallet, etc.
I ran to the end of the hallway and too the elevator, where both of my friends were holding it open and waiting.
The ride down is filled with both Kate and Elle anxiously fiddling around until we heard the elevator ding and come to a stop.
"We've got to hurry," Kate says as she pulls both Elle and I through the lobby and out to the car, practically forcing each of us in.
Still dazed by the whole situation, I was silent for the whole ride; Kate and Elle talked the whole time.
I internally wonder if that's what will happen the whole time we're there. Them going off on their own, leaving me and breaking their promise. It all seemed likely with what had been going on recently.
"We're here!" Kate screams, breaking me out of my thoughtful stance and causing me to look at the giant building in from of us.
The parking lot was packed, with a long line to get in. Elle had already parked the car, which was surprisingly easy enough, and we were all hopping out.
"I can't wait!" Elle exclaimed, jumping up and down in her purple sundress.
Yesterday, we all got matching dresses and sandals, though the dresses were different colors and the sandals; different sizes. They were cut a little above the knee and had a tight waist where you could wear a belt if you'd like.
Elle had chosen a dark lavender color and a braided, brown leather belt. Kate's dress was a pastelish mint that complimented her eyes. For mine, I went with my same, color-as-always, bright coral. It contrasted well with my eyes and made them seem livelier and happier than I actually was at times, which is always a plus.
"Come on, slow poke!" Kate shouts and I snap out of my daydreaming to find her and Elle already halfway across the parking lot and skipping for the entrance.
I jog to catch up, and when I do, I find myself standing inside a large hallway. Booths lined each side and people were everywhere. Great. I really underestimated this event.
"Be cool," Kate said, surprisingly serious, as we walked into the convention and showed the guards our tickets. Lucky for me, Elle had bought an extra for me in advance.
"Where to first?" Elle asks as Kate takes a slip of paper from her leather purse and unfolds it. I peek over her shoulder just in time to see it to be some sort of 'To Do' list before she folds it up again and puts away.
"This way," Kate points, before smiling and turning to lead me on, "Come on, Bell."
I nod slightly and follow her willingly, though I don't believe I had much of a choice.
The amount of people in the place-although it was rather large-was scaring me, I had never been good with or in crowds. I was highly claustrophobic and practically yelped when anyone accidentally brushed by me or touched me; today seemed to be no different.
I let out a small squeak as a short stranger, with his hair bleached blondish purple, wearing large framed glasses, brushed up against my bare arm.
"Oh! I'm sorry," the guy quickly responded in a high-pitched voice.
Kate and Elle turned around and saw the sight, before immediately rushing over.
"Ohmygosh!" Elle word vomited, but luckily Kate-who was acting somewhat sensible-spoke over her.
"Hey, Tyler!" she greeted before she pulled the short guy into an enthusiastic hug; 'Tyler' wasn't fazed at all.
"Hi, I'm guessing you're a viewer?" he said once they had finally pulled apart, a large smile on his face as we glanced at all three of yes.
"Yes!" Elle nodded, finally coming her senses, "I'm Elle, and this is Kate and Arabella."
She pointed at each of us as she said our names and I smiled widely, deciding to go along with it instead of being that awkward turtle I usually am.
"Nice to meet all of you!" Tyler chirped from behind his glasses. He was wearing a floral shirt with khaki pants. Throughout the entire time we were talking to him, he seemed absolutely comfortable; which amazed me considering how worked up I would always get when I met someone new. But no, it was like a big friendly reunion, though I had no idea who this 'Tyler' guy was.
"Bell?" Kate asks sarcastically, waving her phone in front of my face, "Take our picture?"
"S-sure," I stutter before grabbing her white iPhone.
Tyler slings both of his arms around Kate and Elle, smiling; as are Kate and Elle. In fact, I would've bet their smiles couldn't get any bigger.
"Alright! Thanks!" Elle responds as she turns to give him another hug.
"No problem, nice meeting you!" he responds as we all slip away. He gives a distant wave at me before I'm pulled away by my friends, once again. I had a feeling it was going to be a long day.
