Arabella's pov/thoughts

"Excuse me ma'am?" a voice asks softly, shaking me awake.

I blink my eyes once to focus them on a scrawny old man standing a few feet away from me. He was wearing a janitors uniform with a navy blue hat pulled low over his bald head.

"I'm going to have to ask you to leave young lady," he says politely and I look around to see almost everyone gone; only a few older people stroll around with passes looped around their necks.

I nod and he gives me a friendly, crooked smile before walking away. I return his smile until he's just about turns the corner, when it slips and crashes onto the floor into a million of pieces.

Where is Kate and Elle? I wonder. And why haven't they come back for me?

My mind is a jumbled mess as I pull out my phone. With no luck, I see I have no missed calls or unread text messages. Kate and Elle aren't even answering their phones!

I try calling multiple times on each of their numbers, resulting in voicemail every time. My texts either don't go through or don't make sense; my fingers are shaking terribly.

They did this on purpose, an intimidating voice says in my head, and I can't help but wonder if it's right.

I shake as I pull myself up. Not from the cold, but from absolute terror. They couldn't possibly have left me, could they?

I groan as I walk; my legs had fallen asleep from however long I had been sitting in the corner. It hurt to walk, every step feeling like I was stepping on pins and needles.

I limp my way to the entrance/exit of the building and walk outside. As soon as the air hit me, I'm freezing.

The temperature seemed to had dropped around 10 degrees, and with the wind nipping my face, as well as the little clothing that covered my body, I was shaking even more than I already had been.

My dress blew in the wind and I repeatedly smoothed it down, though my efforts did nothing. It looked like it was about to storm.

"Shit," I cursed to myself as I limp-walked across the parking lot, hoping to find Elle's car in the same spot we left it.

My heart drops as I round a small corner and find the spot empty. I twirl around desperately, but with no prevail. Besides a few retreating cars, the parking lot is completely empty.

"No!" I cry to myself as I shakily look around.

While the streets are still some-what crowded, all signs of normal pedestrians had vanished, being replaced by gangly looking guys and thugs. Great. And if you know me, you know my shy attitude does not mix with the straight-forward kind.

Well you can't just stay here all night! A voice inside of my head shouts at me as I check the time; 10:56PM.

Kate and Elle could be back at the room, the voice says again. It's trying to reason with me, and for once, I take it's advice. After all, I'm freezing, lonely, frightened, et cetera.

I sigh as I start walking along the sidewalk, careful not to draw attention to myself.

I clutch my purse at my side as I walk, head down and eyes staring at the pavement or the heels in front of me.

I hear a whistle ring out as I pass a bench of guys. Their eyes are traveling over my body in the creepiest way. Scared but furious, I flick them off and keep walking; at a faster pace this time around.
