This chapter is seriously sad just a warning
Donovan's P.O.V
"Donny, honey, be careful," my mother cooed as I went to hold my baby sister.
"I am, Mommy."Her blue eyes gazed up at me in amazement and I could be certain mine mirrored her's. "She's so pretty," I smiled.
"She is," Daddy said, walking in and kissing Mommy's cheek. Why did they always do that? "I see my big boy is holding my little angel. Be careful, bud."
"I am!" It was annoying that they always said that. I knew that Little Angel was not big and strong like me so I had to be careful, but they told me over and over! Little Angel had just turned two and was now forming perfect sentences-well, almost perfect.
"Bubba, down!" I put her down as she commanded and watched her run up to Daddy. "Daddy!"
"Hello, my Little Angel, how was your day? Were you good for your Mommy?" She nodded her head and nestled his neck just like she did with me. Am I not special? Daddy sat on the floor with her while I crawled into Mommy's lap.
"What's wrong, my big boy?" She ran her fingers through my hair as I leaned against her.
"Am I special?"
"Of course you are, Donny."
"More special than Caylee?" Mommy frowned.
"Everyone is special in their own way; don't compare yourself to others."
"So my Mate special too."
She nodded. "Mhm. Very."
"I'm excited to meet her so we can be special together."
She giggled and kissed my cheek. "Me too, honey." That's when Daddy's phone rang. He picked up the call and stood, his face becoming like stone.
"Yes?" There was a pause and his eyes went wide with fear. "Now? Where? How cold this happen?! Get the women and children to safety n-" An explosion was heard across the pack and the line went dead.
"Anthony?!" My mother's voice was clearly frightened and my sister looked very confused. I ran to the other side of the room, hiding under the bed.
"Get the children out of here and meet me at the safe house tonight."
"But-" She was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Anthony," she whispered, picking up my sister.
"Stay behind me." Mommy looked under the bed and mouthed 'Don't move' and I didn't. I was utterly still, barley breathing. Dad opened the door and five men burst inside, grabbing him and my mom, who was holding Little Angel. NO!
"Anthony, how ya doin', bud?" The man in the middle with the spiky blonde hair said. He smiled, showing his rotten teeth, making me cringe.
"What do you want, Miles?"
The man named Miles grinned and turned to my mother. "Let each of us have a turn with your Mate and we'll let your family live," he said, looking from my mom to Little Angel.
Father growled and his hand fisted at his side. "F*ck off." Miles sighed and shook his head.
"Oh, Anthony," he looked at Little Angel smiled. "Hello, princess." Little Angel shrunk back into Mommy's side. "Aw, come on now." Her eyes watered and she looked up at Mommy, who hid Little Angel's face in her hair. "Mark," he said, turning to a big man with brown hair and giant chin. "Red." He took out a gun and shot Daddy in the head. I jumped and tears blurred my vision. DADDY! My mother cried and two men took her by the arms, ripping Little Angel from her hands. I fumbled under the bed to find Daddy's secret gun. He had only taught me a few things on shooting and we only went to the range once, but my aim was pretty good. I unlatched the box and fumbled with the silver bullets. Each one was laced with wolfsbane and it burned my fingertips, but I made no noise. I aimed at the man who was taking advantage of my mother against the wall. Why wasn't she fighting him?! That was when I noticed the bullet lodged in her skull. Anger burned within me as I aimed for the back of his head and shot he fell over and his body dropped along with my mother's. I turned and shot the four other confused men and climbed out of my hiding place. Tears burned in my eyes when they landed on my mother's body, her eyes wide open in fear. I dropped to my knees and took Little Angel in my arms, her neck had been snapped and her dress ripped from her just like Mommy. I cried out and held her close to me.
"Caylee," I whispered. Guilt filled me at the thought of how, just moments ago, I wanted to be more special than her. I laid between my parents, holding my sister to my chest and willing them to come back to life, but it never happened.
