(Five in the morning, at the hospital)
Kaz's eyes were closed, but he was not asleep. He would not be able to sleep until he knew for sure Inej was safe. He knew he should probably trust the doctors and nurses, but what if one of them stabbed her on accident with a needle? No, he would not go to sleep. he was the only one in the waiting room, and he took out his phone, turning on Megadeth's A Tout Le Monde. Kaz scrolled through his texts into their friend group chat.
