Chapter One: Birthday

Running. I was running. I didn't know why but I felt like I need to. I just know that I was running in a forest.

I was in a simple white dress, I wasn't  wearing any shoes.

I kept runnig, I was tired, but I kept running. I feel like someone is after me, however I don't know who.

I was starting to sweat because of the intense sun and the running. I stopped and look behind me and instead of the amazing weather,  was dark clouds and it was cold. Looking in front of me,  I could still see the blue sky and the sun. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. I don't know but I start running again.

I saw a light and kept running towards that light but when I approached I froze.

I heard a voice.

-Grace, you can't run away from your destiny.

-Grace Amelia Collins, get down or you will be late for school.

I woke up by hearing my mom yelling again, she always does that in the morning when I'm getting late for school.

What dream was that? What did it means? Who was that person?

Well it doesn't matter now because I'm oficially seventeen years old, today is my birthday.

I'm so excited, I'm going to celebrate it with my friends Jenna and Sarah, these girls are the best.

I met Jenna when I was 7, we met in the park when a boy push her to the ground and I helped her, since that day we can't leave without  each other.

Well with Sarah was differen't, Jenna and I met her when we were 10, she had just moved in with her family, so we all know that it's very hard to be the new girl in school, specially if you are shy just like Sarah, but when our teacher put the three of us together doing a project we all became friends, so now I have two best friends that are the best and I just love those girls.

Anyways, I got up and dress myself as usual with my jeans, my t-shirt and my black all-stars. I went downstairs and saw my parents having breakfast.

-Happy birthday sweet heart!-my dad said to me.

-Thanks dad.

-OMG I can't believe my baby is seventeen!

-Mom stop it, I'm not a baby!

-You will always be my baby.-my mom told while hugging me and kissing me.

We were all eating and talking about their work and my school, when my dad changed the subject and said:

-Hey Grace now that you are seventeen are you feeling any different?

-Dad, are you asking if I am already feeling old?

-Of course not honey it was just a question.

Both my parents stop drinking their coffee and looked at each other.

-Humm...well no dad, I don't feel any different.

-Okay...well you should go to school or you will be late.

-Yes I have to go, Jenna and Sarah will kill me if I get late today.-I said getting up and picking my backpack.

-Bye guys love you.

-Bye swettie.

When I arrived to school I went strait to my locker.

When I got there I saw a brunette and a blondie standing by my locker. 

-HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACE!!

Sarah and Jenna said at the same time and hugged me.

-Thanks girls!

-So tell us, how does it feel to finally be a seventeen years old girl?-Jenna said.

-You tell me since you are a seventeen years old girl for four months now.

Sarah and I laugh together.

-Oh cmon don't be mean.

-You right we should already expect that from you Jenna, after all you are blonde.

-Hey Sarah don't be mean and you know I hate jokes about being blonde. I am a very smart girl.

-We know, it was just a joke you know we love you. Right Grace?

-Absolutely, but girls we have to go to class now.

-Right I have to go to math, Mr.Walters gets very angry when we got late, lets go Sarah.

-Yes. What do you have now Grace?

-English with Mrs.Anderson.

-Lucky you. Oh well cmon Sarah before Mr.Walters becomes the hulk.

We all laugh and said bye to go to our classes. I went to my class and sat where I usually seat, which means in the back, close to the window.

It was almost time to class start and students were already going to their seats. I was opening my notebook when a deep voice sounded behind me.

-Hey you are in my seat.

I looked behind to see the one and only Scott Meyers looking at me.

-Hey nerd I said you are in my seat.
