Ever After

☾Chapter Five☽

Mary and Ever turned around to a group of three girls. The one who had addressed them held a hand on her hip.

"Hello? Can you two hear?"

"Uh. Yes, sorry." Ever spoke up, putting a sweet smile on her face. "We're visiting from Siral."

"Oh." The main girl crinkled up her nose in disgust. "That washed up place." She added swishing her teal blue hair behind her. Ever looked the girls over. The one who seemed to lead the group was taller than the others, her dark green tail flicked impatiently. Ever noticed that she wore pearls in her hair and a string of them around her waist. From glancing around at the holographic billboards around Aquata she could tell that she was up to date on fashion.

Behind her was a girl with hot pink hair. She wore the same thing as the first girl but in a neon orange.

"Um. I did ask if I could help you?"

"With what?" Mary questioned.

The two girls laughed, making Ever notice the third. She was quiet, and smaller than the other two. She had blonde hair and a baby blue tail. She was wearing some pearls as well, but not as much as the others.

"Well, first of all you two have been staring at a wall, which it's pretty, but not the focal point of Aquata." The girl with pink hair spoke up. "Second," She counted on her fingers, "You two have been muttering to each other."

"Sorry." Mary sighed.

"We were trying to figure out what to visit next." Ever interrupted.

"I'd suggest a mall." The teal girl giggled pointing at Mary's dress.

"If that's the fashion in Siral than count me out from ever visiting." The pink girl wrinkled her face up like she smelled something bad.

How was Ever supposed to get into the castle, especially now that they were being criticized by some mermaid brats. Just then ever realized something. She looked over the three girls again. It had to be!

"Ah, my apologies it took me a while to recognize you three." Ever smiled. The teal girl who Ever now recognized to be Abalone fell silent.

"It's okay. You don't have to address us." The smallest spoke up.

"Umiko, hush!" Abalone snapped, she then smiled prettily at Ever. "It's always nice to know we have fans, especially when I'll be the next queen of Aquata."

"No you won't Abalone. Mother was going to give it to someone who deserves it, remember?"

"Shut up, Cilia." Abalone argued.

"Um, excuse me?" Ever glanced behind the two quarreling girls at Umiko. She wrung her hands in front of her and looked embarrassed. "I was actually hoping to get to talk to the Queen, but I was unaware that they changed the conditions."

"Well that's not a problem because the future queen is here." Cilia pushed her way in front of her sisters.

"Well, I come from Prince Wylliam with a message." Ever felt there was no harm in telling them about the monster, besides they most likely wouldn't believe her.

"What's the message?" Abalone asked shoving Cilia aside.

"There's a monster coming and he needs the Queens artifact from the Elledens." Ever tried to be as vague as possible.

Abalone and Cilia burst out laughing.

"A monster?" Abalone chuckled. "Whatever monster affects Siral won't affect us!"

"Yes, it will!" Mary refuted.

"Mary, it's fine." Ever whispered.

"I didn't know the Prince would send such crazy people!" Abalone and Cilia swam away laughing, leaving Umiko behind.
