Wyll glanced behind at Ever before disappearing under a pile of rubble. He didn't know exactly where to look first.
He slicked back his blonde curls with his hand. He was stupid to worry about silly things, but he wondered whether they would actually find anything. If they didn't then... Wyll gulped.
Who knew what would happen.Suddenly, Wyll tripped over a small thing of debris. When he looked up again, he found himself in a different place.
"Where am I?" He mumbled to himself.
He was in a town now. The buildings around him reminded him of Siral. The door next to him swung open.
"Kano!" A girl yelled. A guy stepped out into the sunlight. He had jet black hair tied back into a bun, and wore a dark grey button jacket.
Wyll took a deep breath in. The girl who followed him through the doorway ran to catch up with the man. She wrapped her arm around his."Ever." Wyll gasped. She looked much different than how he had seen her a couple of minutes ago. Her black and white hair was down to her knees, and for once her forehead wasn't covered by a pile of bangs.
"Kano, what's the plan today?" She smiled. Kano turned towards her and grinned.
"The same thing as always," Kano leaned in a little closer to her, "we wreak a little havoc." He replied in a whisper. Ever laughed in response, but it wasn't the normal laugh that Wyll had come to love. It was almost... scarier. Like something you would expect from a villain in a fairytale.Time suddenly stopped, and Wyll glanced around.
"She's like a different person, isn't she?"Wyll jumped out of his skin. Next to him stood a well dressed man leaning on a cane. He held out his hand to introduce himself.
"The name's Hex. I'm a... friend of Ever." He hesitated."Did you do this?" Wyll asked.
"The mirage, yes. I took you back in time. This." Hex pointed to the guy with black hair. "This is the person your sweet Ever is so hesitant to talk about."
"I wouldn't call her sweet." Wyll chuckled. He then paused. "Who is he?"
"I guess you could say her ex."
"Ex? What happened? Why isn't she around with him today?"
"Something happened to him. The same thing that will happen to everyone... eventually." Hex replied with a shrug.
"He died?" Wyll replied in a mocking tone.
"No. Ever killed him."
"W-what?" Wyll stepped back. "Ever would never-"
"How much do you really know about her?" Hex mused.
"Everything that she has told me."
"And you believe her?"
Wyll hesitated. "Yes."
Hex chuckled.
"What does showing me this have to do with anything?" Wyll questioned.
"Because, have you ever thought that maybe... you shouldn't trust her?"
"No. I trust Ever. She's done all of this to help save everyone, she can't be a bad person."
