Bolt and Penny

The Long Run

Fast forward about 2 months and let me tell you the tale. 

Penny shivered as she walked up the driveway. It was October, and mother nature was really letting lose her fury. The forecast for tomorrow called for more low temperatures, and, maybe even the first frost. Opening the door to her house, she heard the rapid pawsteps of Bolt and smiled as he popped around the corner to the stairs. Ever since she figured out Bolt was in love with her, her life changed dramatically. Penny spent more and more time with her beloved dog, cuddling with him, walking him, and of course playing with him. (Giggity). On her birthday (the 28th of September), her family came over and they had a party. She got presents and  cards with money and the usual stuff. But the best present she got was from Bolt. Late at night after everyone left and Penny was in bed, Bolt climbed out from the covers and jumped from the bed. Penny had groggily said, "Mm... Bolt? Where you going buddy?" Bolt just trot to the closet where he had hid the gift, and pulled open the sliding door. Penny watched with fascination as Bolt rummaged through a box on the floor and pulled something out. Trotting back over, Bolt climbed into Penny's lap and she noticed he had something hanging from his muzzle. Penny grabbed it and saw it was a card from mom and Bolt. Opening it, she read the inside. 

'To my dearest love, nothing can split us apart.' Beneath the typing, was a picture of a girl an her dog holding each other. Looking to the other side, she saw a twenty dollar bill and something underneath it. Penny removed the twenty and gasped. Taped to the card was half of a heart necklace, bearing the words 'you is internal'. Bolt barked and Penny looked at him, tears in her eyes. She saw something around his neck and looked closer. It was the other side to the heart, it read, 'My love for'. Penny sniffled and put the two pieces together, "My love for you is eternal," Penny read out loud. Realizing that Bolt meant it for them, Penny began to cry and wrapped him in a hug. Bolt put his paws on her shoulders and laid his head in the crook of her neck. Penny sobbed and held him closer to herself, stroking the soft fur along his back. Pulling up the card to see if there was anymore writing, she saw her mom's handwriting. 'Penny, I went to the store with Bolt and he picked out this card for you. While we were walking to the line to checkout, we passed the jewelry section and he barked. You remember that small pouch I made him? Well he got into that and pulled out a twenty we got him for his birthday and pawed at the glass. He got excited when I pointed to the necklace and I realized he wanted to get you that. He really loves you Penny, he does, and so do I. Happy birthday sweetheart. -Love Mom and Bolt.' Penny felt a deep happiness well within her, and she audibly sobbed louder, holding her Bolty to her body. 

"Hey Bolty Boo!" Penny said, wrapping her arms around Bolt as he jumped up and licked her face happily. Setting down her bag, Penny went to the living room and sat down on the couch. Bolt followed her and climbed up into her lap. Turning on the TV like she normally does, Penny scrolled through the channels and sighed when she found nothing interesting. Petting Bolt's furry head, she set down the remote and leaned her head back on couch. Tired from her day at school, Penny felt drowsy and didn't want to fall asleep on the couch. "Penny!" Her mom called. "What mom!?" Penny heard her mom's footsteps. "Make sure you get to bed early dear, remember, you have that meeting in the morning with Dr. Feldman." Groaning, Penny stood up, making Bolt jump down, and walked to her bedroom. 

*I'm about to do something new, so bear with me*

-Bolt's POV-

Bolt loved it every time Penny would come home and snuggle him. It made him feel all warm and tingly inside. Ever since that time they shared on the bed two months ago, Bolt had felt his love for Penny deepen. He knew that  what they shared was wrong, but he didn't care. On her birthday, he had made a plan to go with her mom to the shopping mall to buy Penny a special present. Her mom had made him a special pouch for money, so he had hoped when he pulled out the twenty, she would understand and make the transaction for him. That night, when he gave Penny her side of the necklace, she broke down and held onto him for hours. He loved her, and there was nothing that was going to stop him. No silly laws, no stupid 'well your a dog and she's a human!' and definitely not Penny's mom. If her mom found out about the two of them, he would do everything to stop her, and no pound officer was going to take him away from his Penny! 

Penny stood up (forcing him off her lap)and headed for her bedroom. Bolt followed her and couldn't wait for the cuddles! Seeing Penny pull back the covers, Bolt made a precise jump and landed in his usual spot. Feeling Penny cuddle up to him, he turned to watch as his beloved human threw the covers over them both. He felt her arm snake up between his front legs and rest right under his chin. He heard her sigh in contentment, and he himself began to feel drowsy. Closing his eyes, Bolt pushed back against penny gently and felt her hold him closer to her warm body. Between Penny's quiet breathing, and her gentle stroking of his fur, Bolt's mind slipped into the realm of dreams. 

*So there it is, another chapter. I tried POVs this time but I'm not sure how well I did. I know I'm not the best writer, but that movie charmed me so much that I just fell in love with Bolt. He's so adorable, and I wish I had a German Shepherd to cuddle with at night. So, with cuddle scenes, I feel I'm not that great. But hey, I really love cuddling. (Good thing I have a girlfriend). So as usual, all rights go to Disney and the guy who voiced Bolt, (John Trivolta), I DO NOT OWN any of the characters used in this story, Disney does. Oh, and if your reading this Disney, make a Bolt 2, add some cuddling, love and relationship. I guarantee you, you'll make some money. -Ciao *
