Bolt opened his eyes wearily. Looking around, he slowly tried to sit up but realized there was something holding him down. "Penny?...." Bolt asked tiredly. A pair of arms that were locked around his abdomen, tightened their grip on him and a soft nose nuzzled into his neck. "Mmmmm... Bolty... I love you." Bolt sighed and backed into his owner's warm body. "I love you too Penny." Gently bending down, Bolt took Penny's delicate hand in his maw and closed his eyes. Basking in the tenderness of Penny's skin against the roof of his mouth; Bolt felt his body grow heavy with drowsiness and fell asleep.

Penny awoke to the feeling of something warm and wet encasing her hand. Smiling, the redhead buried her face in the crook of Bolt's neck and nuzzled his downy fur. Ever since they had gotten to the hospital the day before, Bolt had taken to grabbing a few of Penny's fingers and falling asleep with them in his mouth. She didn't know why he did this, but he's never said anything about it. So Penny made the assumption that it was like holding her hand since he had paws and he couldn't. When they had reached the vet clinic the day before, the doctor that was in took one look at the dog and said, 'You should take him to the hospital.' So putting Bolt back in the car, Penny's mother drove them to the Los Angeles General Hospital.

Withdrawing her hand from Bolt's maw, Penny gently ran her wet hand down the dog's soft fur and wrapped her arm around the barrel of his form and pulled him gently into her soft belly. Suddenly there was a knock on the door, "Hello, it's Dr. Hephner. Can I come in?" Looking up, Penny replied, "Sure, yeah, come on in." The door to the ER room opened and the doctor assigned to Bolt came in and sat down. "So how's our little buddy doing today?" Running a hand over the German Shepherd's head, Dr. Hephner smiled and pulled out his clipboard. "So, it says here that he ingested a large amount of chocolate about two days ago. And had his stomach pumped when he arrived." Penny nodded, never letting go of Bolt. Writing down a few things on his clipboard, the doctor clicked his pen shut and ruffled the fur on Bolt's head. "Well, we've prescribed him some medication just in case he gets worse. But that shouldn't happen." Thanking the doctor, Penny lay back down on her side and resumed cuddling her fluffy lover. Before closing the door, the doctor asked, "Would you like me to have one of the nurses bring you a blanket for you both?" Penny nodded and said, "Yeah, that would be nice of you."

In ER room, Penny slept quietly with Bolt in her arms. Over the both of them was a pure white blanket, and the warmth that was covering them was very relaxing.  In the darkness of the room, the outside light was cast in by a nearby street lamp. And as the snow gently fell onto the parking lot outside, Penny nuzzled deeper into the warmth of Bolt's fur and let out a contented sigh. She was happy she had someone special to wake up to on Christmas. And as far as she was concerned, she didn't need a boyfriend when she had her loving pooch Bolt.

From outside the room, Penny's mom was on the phone with the dog breeder. "Wait wait! But what about tomorrow? We'll be home tomorrow!" The breeder on the other end declined, "I'm sorry miss, but I said that it had to be today or not at all. Because I have other customers that are ready today." Letting out a heavy sigh, Penny's mom hung up the phone and sat down in the chair next to the door. She was really hoping that she could get that money for Penny to get her, her first car. But with Bolt recovering in the hospital, she couldn't get any breeders to stop by right now. With her job, she could try putting aside money, but that would take at least a few years. She could try and get another breeder to stop by next week, but she didn't know if she would have the time. Letting out another sigh, the middle aged woman scratched her chin thoughtfully. Why did Penny have to have such a disgusting attitude toward breeders? It's not like there was anything wrong with them right? I mean, a dog's got to fool around once in awhile.

But it was exactly this, was why Penny had Bolt eat chocolate. Penny believed Bolt wasn't just a stud, where he slept around with any old dog. She believed he was special, and that he deserved to be committed in a relationship. Not having sex with everything within a 500 mile radius. And that went for guys as well. That's why Penny's never dated. Because all guys do is try to get between girls legs and then leave them for another girl, and the process starts all over again.

*Well I hoped you enjoyed this chapter. I really do hate guys who sleep around with all different kinds of girls. It's disgusting, and you should never be that kind of guy. Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all get what you want this year!*
