"I'll give you ten minutes," Coach sternly told Andy.

"Okay," she replied. I heard him walk out.

"Are you okay?" She asked. I couldn't look up at her. I was too ashamed. Memories of mums friend flashed in and out of my mind.

"Danni," she breathed, placing her fingers under my chin. Her fingers were so soft. She lifted my head up and forced me to look at her. Everything was blurry. All I could see were smudges of colours. No details. I could feel that I was squinting my eyes. Black marks were moving towards me. I flinched softly, before realising that she was putting my glasses back on. She carefully slipped them behind my ears and onto my nose. Everything was clear. She had a busted lip. The blood trailed down her chin. Her cheek was already turning a shade of blue. Her eyes were full of concern and hatrid. Her honey brown eyes were now a dark caramel.

"Are you okay?" She asked again, her eyes tracing mine, looking for something.

"Yes," I mumbled, trying to hide all the emotions I had inside.

"Please don't do this to yourself," she pleaded. Her eyes were full of worry.

"Do what?" I asked, knowing what she meant but I couldn't leave him.

"You can't let that asshole treat you like that!" She breathed, holding the bridge of her nose. The problem was I was used to it. I was used to getting used and abused.

"Please break up with him Danni, for your sake,"

"I can't,"

"Yes you can Danni. You deserve so much better than my asshole of a brother,"

"He loves me," she laughed.

"He doesn't love you Danni. If he did he'd treat you like royalty," I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"I have a game to win, but let me take you home,"

"Okay," I nodded.

"Here," she smiled, holding a hand out for me. I grabbed it and she lifted me up with ease.

"You're too beautiful to be treated like this," she whispered, making her way out of the locker room. She thought I was beautiful?

All you could hear were the waves from the ocean over the hill. The air was freezing and burned your skin when it brushed past. I held onto her jacket, trying to keep myself warm. They won the game 76-23 and Andy got player of the game. I waited for her outside the change room. I hadn't seen Beatrice since he left earlier. He's never forced himself on me in public. Why was he doing it now?

"When you think too hard you get wrinkles," I looked up and met a smirking Andy.

"Ready to go?" She asked, a duffle bag over one shoulder.

"Yes," I replied, walking next to her.

"How'd you like the game?" She asked.

"It was okay,"

"Not much of a sports fan huh?"
