STORY ONE

Chapter One: Secrets

Zaylah was sitting in her math class at University Heights High School. Her and about 10 other kids were paying attention to what the teacher was actually trying to teach. Everyone else was on their phone, socializing, flirting with each other, and the couples in the back of the room were strong supporters of PDA. "CLASS!! I would really appreciate it if you pretended to care about what I'm trying to say." said Ms. Shirley. "Well, I'm SORRY Shirley. You're right. EVERYBODY, SHUT THE F**K UP!!" screamed Tyrone, the class clown. "Bro, you ain't helpin' the cause. Yelling and cursing everyone out, being disrespectful, that ain't funny bro. What's good with you bro?? Chill with all that." said Jontavian. He was the most popular boy in the school. Everyone respected him and he was pretty secretive about his business. He only told his homies who he liked and was dating. His homies didn't dare tell anyone else either. Of course, he intimidated a lot of people. Zaylah was not one of those people. Zaylah used to have a crush on Jontavian, but she didn't let anyone know that. She knew how embarassing it would be for everyone to know that she had a crush on the most popular boy in the whole school and to be giving him something to ruin their friendship. She passed that oppurtunity up real quick. Oh, I forgot to mention that Jontavian and Zaylah were like best friends. They were close friends since Kindergarten. Then, they decided to attend high school together. The rest of math class ended up with Ms. Shirley giving up as usual and just letting everyone get a social period. All of their classes were like that. The teachers would collect homework from the usual 11 students: Zaylah, Jontavian, Tyrone, Derrick, Christina, Diana, Ethan, Wayne, Nicole, Jaysean, and Jesse. After that, they'd go back to their desk and read or something. Jontavian would talk with his homies and Zaylah would talk with her close frend Destiny.

Zaylah's Conversation-

Zaylah: Soo, what's new?

Destiny: Well, a few new things. Alex and Christina broke up yesterday at Jeremiah's party

Zaylah: You're kidding me! What happened? They were so cute together.

Destiny: Turns out Alex was cheating on Christina with Rebecca.

Zaylah: Of course it was Rebecca. Rebecca's passes her s**t around like it's a freaking hot potato.

Destiny: Girl, you ain't never lie! So you got a date for prom? You know it's in 2 weeks.

Zaylah: No, you?

Destiny: Wait, what? You ain't got no date? Ooouuu, don't let Tyrone or Jaden know that. You got their noses wide open.

Zaylah: If Jaden asks me, I'd probably say yes. Just as long as Tyrone doesn't ask me, I'm good to go.

Destiny: Girl, you a mess.

Zaylah: Ooouuu, you ain't never lie.

Jontavian's Conversation-

Derrick: So, who ya wanna take to prom? Jon?

Jontavian: What you said?

Derrick: Who you tryna take to prom?

Jontavian: ...

Tyrone: Come on man, you know we won't tell.

Jontavian: Aii, I'm tryna take Z.

Jaden: Wait, Z as in Zaylah?

Jontavian: Yea, Z as in Zaylah. Is there a problem?

Jaden: Yeah, I wanted to take her.

Tyrone: Me too...

Jontavian: Aii, Tyrone she would never agree to go with you. She thinks you a joke and you can't take nothing seriously. And Jaden, stay the f**k away from her or I'll knock you the f**k out along with ya teeth and ya waves.
