chapter 2~

The breath of the tallclaw was warm on my face. it let out another low treating growl. I have to get out of here! but my paws were frozen to the ground with fear. clam, be calm i let out a calm breath in and out. i was about to take a step back, but the tallclaw lunged forward. i scrambled backwards and its claws barely missed my face. with out another thought u ran out of the hole screeching as claws flew at my tail. i have to get the clan! i cant take on a tallclaw by my self! "TALLCLAW! HELP! TALLCL-"

my sentence was cut of as powerfull paws nocked me against a tree. the tallclaw stood over me, its mouth rimmed with saliva. it backed up onto its back legs and raised its paw, reveling long black claws. on the other side of the clearing, thorn bushes parted and loststar bounded in on his three legs. the tallclaws paw sore threw the air, its long claws aiming for my sides.

"DEWPAW!"

i heard the mew of oakpaw. i smiled at his bravery, but then claws dug into my side, and i plunged into darkness

oakpaws pov (yea ewe)

I laid in the den half asleep. I heard a few birds give of an alarm call. probly just a snake. but then i herd a faint screech. i priked my eres and lifted my head, and another screech came more clearly

"TALLCLAW! HELP! TALLCL-"

i knew that voice. IT WAS DEWPAWS! The yowl got cut off and i raced out of the den. the other cats raced out of there dens and loststar jumped on to the tallbranch, balancing perfectly on his three legs.

"SNOWBLAZE, WOLFCLAW, ECHOGAZE AND..."

he paused and scanned the crowd, stoping when he looked at me

"AND OAKPAW your in the tallclaw battle patrol, were leaving now!"

he dashed out of the camp, and the rest of the patroll fallowed. as we bounded through the forest following dewpaws scent, i noticed another scent.. like cat but different. I couldent quite put a paw on it. the patrol stoped in front of a large barrier of thorns. loststar flicked his ear and we dived through a little opening. we dived into a clearing, and at the edge a tallpaw was standing over dewpaw, its paw getting ready to slice down her side. i jumped in front of the patrol and ran forward yelling

"DEWPAW!"

The tallclaws paw sliced down and left three deep cuts on dewpaws side. i pounced onto its back growling. it twist and threw me back, with a shocked mew i landed in a thorn bush. something dark grey flinched in front of me. the musky cat sent filled my nose and i jumped forward hissing. His expresion was un readable, but his eyes had a murderess look to it.

"i friend of dew i see"

he snarled

"d..dew?"

did he mean dewpaw? he looked back at me and smiled wildly

"how wonderful, dews best friend! what a perfect way to start her suffering"

he laughed and stared at me agian. i suddenly felt small under his green gaze. He raised a paw, long black claws extended. before he could swipe down, a growl came and the tallclaw rammed through the bushes, molted with blood and cuts. the strange cat dogged the tallclaw, his jet black paws a blur. he stood a little way back now, and his eyes filled with hatred.

"dont tell your friends about me, or it will be dew whos hurt"

in a flash he was gone. and i sat there trembling. I cant let him hurt dew! but if i dont tell loststar ill be unloyal. the others called my name and i came out of the bushes. "im fine" i looked at dewpaw, the bleeding wasent as bad, and the rise of her flank showed that she was unconscious. she seems ok.... but that blow was so strong, too strong.. and what about that other cat? my life was always made up of being loyal..... but he made me unloyal.. he knew my weakness... what is this strange cat a begging of?

<kats note~ do u know who the dark grey cat is? ewe if u read the begging thing about cat colors and shiz. Lol. And woo i feel so proud *wipes tear away from eye* 7 readers is what it said. Thank you. Lol i must be so lame to think 7 is alot. BUT ITS GOOD ENUF TO MAKE MEH KEEP RIGHTIN LAWL.
