chapter 13

Oakwings pov~

Sunleaf stumbled into the den, before he called the next cat to go on watch i volunteered. I walked and sat by the entrance. The distant call of an owl hooted, and the night breeze cooled

Me. I sat and listened to the Forest, i herd a crake to the right of me and i turned. I padded that way, the path curved downwards. I snuck forward and caught my paw on a ivy string, i triped forward and tummbled through brambles. I hit something and when i reached the bottom of the hill i found my self staring at breezepaw

"oakwing! You scared me to death!"

She shuddered. I backed away in embarrassment.

" what are you doing out here this late?"

I asked. She looked at my embarrassed look and chuckled.

"dont worry i wont tell anyone you triped on a stick"

"It wasent a stick! I triped on iv.."

She chuckled even more and i scuffed a playfull paw over her ear

"shut up, i gotta get back to guarding... race you to camp!"

I flung off and heard her call

"NO FAIR!"

I was ahead but all of a sudden she was in front of me, she waved her tail and yowled.

"slowpoke!"

She stopped at the entrance to camp and i came soon after.

"dang your fast, and your growing you'll be a warrior soon"

I puffed. She looked down shyly

"thanks.."

She turned away and rushed into camp with a red face. I lookes down and my heart warmed. The last time i was this happy was when me and dewb- i cut of my thought and got my attention, she betrayed you now get back to guarding.

"let all cats gather for my words!"

A yowl woke me from my sleep. I padded out of the warriors den and saw twigta- no twigstar

Standing on tallbranch. The clan gathered around him.

"starclan has given me my nine lives, i will be the best leader i can be-"

Leafclan cheered his name and he spoke agian

"but my first duty as leader is to appoint a deputy, from this day on sunleaf will be

Leafclans deputy, i trust his loyalty and wisdom. Sunleaf do you accept?"

Sunleaf stood and stepped under the tallbranch.

"yes i do accept, i am proud to be deputy under your rule"

The crowd cheered sunleafs name, and twigstar and sunleaf touched noses.

Twigstar then jumped down and padded to ware loststar lay. He bent his head and whispered something to his body, then he straightened and called for the elders. They carried his body fallowed by twigstar, frostkit, wolfclaw and bramblescar.

"okay, we have patrols,snowblaze you lead a border patrol with blazepaw,brackendust and owlwing".

"deerspeckle wants me to help her collect herbs"

Echogaze called. Sunleaf nodded and she left. As we were leaving sunleaf called to Dewblossom, asking if she could tran breezepaw today. The clan was working how it should. This new leader and deputy ship is helping the clan. Leafclan is still strong after the loss of loststar. we are a strong clan~

Moonclaws pov~

I waited silently on moonrock. The moon shone just a slit in the sky. The bushes rustled and dew appeared.

" hello dew, you look tired what is happening?"

I expected to hear a sad story about the death of frostkit, but she told me something else.

"loststar died saveing frostkit from foxes.. but were still strong twigstar is a great leader and sunleaf is a great deputy."

So frostkit isent dead? The foxes killed the wrong cat... but at least i took down a leader. Why couldn't frostkit fall into my trap like planed!

"well its good that frostkit is alive, is there anything else happening?"

" well i have a new friend, her names breezepaw shes pretty awesome, i have a feeling that shes going to be a warrior soon"

I nodded.

"any trouble with any other clans?"

Hopefully there was so i can blame deaths on other clans like that dapplepaw.

"no its been mostly peace full."

"well thats good, so things are pretty good in the clan?"

She nodded

"well thats a good reason too stay i guess"

Dewblossom frowned

"can you at least tell me one thing about my past?"

I nodded

"we lived by an old abandoned twoleg nest, it was a perfect home. But soon rouge cats came and chased us out"

"can you tell me more?"

Dewblossom begged. I shook my head.

"no, i cant. The moon will be setting in a little while. Go get rest and meet me here next moon"

She said farewell and padded away. So this Breezepaw seems to be the only new friend. Maby she'll be my next victim, but i dont know when, to many close deaths will get suspicious. I got up and padded down the narrow pathway to he edge of leafclan territory. I sat in my cave and closed my eyes. Maby ill take breezepaw when shes a warrior, so then she'd be closer to dewblossom. I closed my eyes and planed it out till sleep over took me.
