As the year went on, you got extremely close to Susan and Ernie. They're your best friends and you don't know how you would've survived without them.

As for Draco... things didn't go so well with him. You tried to avoid him most of the time, but every time you walk past him, he gives you evil glares or calls you names.

"Don't listen to him", Susan always said, but the things Draco said bothered you. You couldn't help it.

But the last few weeks were about to start. You were almost going to see your parents again. You had missed them terribly, even though the past year at Hogwarts was great, except for Draco being part of it.

The first class of that day, is also your favorite - potions. You don't like the teacher very much. It's as if professor Snape really hates you. He always gives you way more homework than the Slytherins, including Draco Malfoy, but it could always be worse. The student Snape seems to hate the most, is Harry Potter. Harry Potter never did anything wrong, yet Snape hates him. But even though Snape is your potions teacher, potions is still your favorite class.

As you walk to Snape's classroom, you accidentally bump into Draco.
"Watch where you're going, blondie !" Draco says, in a rather harsh tone of voice.
"I'm not the only blonde one here", you whisper to him as you start to look at the ground.
"What was that ?" Draco angrily asks. "Look at me when I'm talking to you, Lightwood !"
You do as he says for some reason and look up into his grey and cold eyes. You notice that his friends, Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy are standing behind him.
"I'm sorry", you say softly, before turning around and quickly walking off.
"I'm not done yet !" Draco yells as he grabs your arm and turns you around. You again stare up into his eyes. Anger boils inside of you. You're never angry, and you've never hated anyone, but Draco was very close to being the first person you've ever hated in your entire life.
"I never liked you, Lightwood", Draco starts talking.
"Tell me something I don't know", you say to him.
"Shut your mouth !"
"I'm s-sorry", you say quietly. You remember what Susan told you. Don't listen to him. Don't let him get to you.
Draco sighs and balls his hands up into fists.
"I never liked you, but I never knew why. But now I do."
You look up at Draco and wait for him to continue.
"There's been a lot of rumors about you lately, Lightwood. And it all makes sense. You're a filthy little mudblood !"
Tears start to form in your eyes. You don't know much about the wizarding world yet, but you've done some studying and research, and you damn well know what a mudblood means.
"Shut up", you say quietly.
"Shut up ? And why should I ? You're weak. Afraid. And pathetic. No one likes you, so stop pretending like everyone does !" Draco spats at you. Tears roll down your cheeks now. Pansy starts laughing out loud, and so do the rest of Draco's friends. Draco himself keeps staring at you.
"You're a mudblood", he whispers one last time, before you run away into the nearest girls bathroom and start crying out loud.
"Why are you crying ?" You hear someone ask. You stop crying and wipe your tears away. You turn around and try to find the person who was talking to you, but you can't see anyone.
You start to cry softly again, and notice that you're late for your first class, something that had never happened before.
"Don't you have to go to your lesson ?" You hear the same voice as earlier ask.
"Who is there ?" You carefully ask, wiping your tears away, and all of the sudden, a ghost flies towards you.
"I am here", she replies, then giggles.
"Who are you ?" You ask, so quietly that it is almost impossible to hear.
The ghost looks at you with a smile.
"I'm Myrtle, but everyone calls me Moaning Myrtle."
"I've never seen you before", you say, and start a conversation with her that makes you forget about Draco.

After hours of talking to Myrtle, after talking about what happened to her, why she's here and about Hogwarts itself, she sits down next to you.
"You haven't been to any classes today", she states. You nod with your head, but don't feel bad at all.
"And you were crying when you came in here", Myrtle continues. "What happened ?"
Tears form in your eyes again as you think about Draco.
"There's this student - a boy", you begin quietly.
"Wait - do you like him ? What's he like ? Does he like you too ?"
"Myrtle ?!"
"S-sorry."
You sigh and look away from her.
"I do not like him. Not at all. I don't ever want to get closer to him again. He called me a - m-mudblood !" You say weakly.
"He likes you."
"What ?"
You turn your head to look at Moaning Myrtle.
"He does not. Did you even hear what I just said ? All he does is make me feel bad about myself."
"Yet he likes you", Myrtle says again.
You stand up angrily and sigh.
"He does not, Myrtle. Stop saying he does. Tell me that once he has stopped being mean to me", you say to her, then leave the bathroom as fast as possible.

You walk into the Hufflepuff common room, the room you've spent a lot of time in the last year.
"Where have you been ?!" You immediately hear a familiar voice ask. You look around and see Susan sitting on the couch.
"I haven't seen you at all today !"
"I'm sorry. I couldn't go to any of my classes today."
Susan looks at you angrily, but you also notice that she's really worried.
"Why not ? What did you do then ?"
You press your lips together and see that Ernie is sitting down next to Susan, joining the conversation.
"I - well - ugh." You close your eyes and take a deep breath as you sit down on the floor in front of them.
"Draco got to me today", you start quietly. "He started calling me worthless and a m-mudblood. And I couldn't take things anymore, so I went to the girls bathroom, and I've stayed there for hours."
You look at the ground and nervously wait for their reactions.
"Oh, Blanche", Susan starts.
"We all know Draco isn't worth it", Ernie adds.
"You should remember what I said - don't let him bring you down. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you today, Blanche."
You smile softly at Susan and Ernie.
"It's okay. Let's not think about it anymore. Let's focus on the happy things", you say, smiling even more.
"The end of the year is almost here. We're almost going to see our parents again, and not to forget, we're going to find out who has won the House Cup", Ernie then says. You start laughing quietly. He had been really busy trying to win the House Cup this year.
"I'm sure we have a great shot at winning, Ernie", Susan says with a smirk.
"Yes, we do. Especially with you in our house", you wink at him. He blushes slightly.
The three of you talk about a few more things, before calling it a day and going to bed. Your friends always knew how to cheer you up, and you were lucky to have them as your friends.
