Second Year: I'm Not Scared

More people have been petrified, and the more people who got petrified and ended up in the hospital wing, the more scared you got.
Since no one could tell you anything about the Chamber of Secrets, you decided to go to the library so you could find out more about it yourself. You had tried to find information about it earlier this year, but failed to find some. Susan told you to just try and focus on school a bit more, instead of only thinking about the Chamber all the time, but no matter how hard you tried, you couldn't stop being afraid.

Once you entered the library, you saw someone you had never expected to see there.
"Didn't think I'd see you here, Lightwood."
You walk up to pale blond haired guy, and you're not even sure why.
"I come here way more often than you, Draco. I should be surprised to see you here", you say, looking up at him.
He shuts his mouth, and so do you. You start looking through the books and try to find something about the Chamber of Secrets.
"Don't be so paranoid", Draco suddenly says, after you've looked through more than 18 books already.
"Mind your own business", you say.
"Are you trying to find out something about the Chamber of Secrets ?"
You sigh and close your eyes.
"Will you please shut up ?"
You can feel that he's smirking. You notice that he's not as mean as he usually is when he's around his friends. He is actually 'nice' to you right now, and he hasn't called you names yet. He's a whole different person.

You continue to search, until you notice Draco standing up and walking up to you. You stop searching for information about the Chamber of Secrets and look up into Draco's eyes.
"I've only picked up one book, and already found lots of information."
"Well, good for you", you sarcastically say, and turn around to look through the piles of books again.
"Lightwood", Draco says.
"What ?"
You look at Draco and you see that he's giving you his book.
"Maybe you'll find something in this that can help you find out more about the Chamber", Draco says. You look down at the book, then up into his eyes.
"T-thank you", you say, as you take the book.
"But I'd be careful if I were you."
"What ? Why ?" You ask, raising an eyebrow.
"You might just get petrified as well."
A smirk appears on Draco's face.
"I'm not scared", you say, as you roll with your eyes. You see that Draco's smirk turns wider and wider.
"You should be careful too, Draco."
"But I'm not scared either, Lightwood."
And with that he walks past you and out of the library. You sit down, and open the book.

After hours of reading, you finally know a little more about the Chamber of Secrets. Not much though, because there's not much information to find in the library, but you know enough. For now.
You stand up, place the books back in the shelves, and decide to leave the library. You walk through the halls, and you hear people whispering and talking about the Chamber of Secrets. Apparently that's the only thing the school can think about at this point, but you don't blame them. Everyone's scared, and everyone's cautious.
You also hear that Hermione Granger, the girl from Gryffindor, had been petrified as well. You didn't know her that well, but she was always nice to you, and so were her best friends, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. But even though you didn't talk to her that much, you had become even more scared.

You decide to go to the hospital wing, but once you get there, you cover your mouth with your hands and gasp in horror. Your eyes travel around the room. More and more students have been petrified, and you now see that Susan is laying on one of the beds as well. You run towards her bed, and see Ernie sitting next to her bed.
"She -" you start, but nothing else comes out of your mouth. Susan, your best friend, is laying on the hospital bed, and she's not moving at all. Her eyes are wide open, they're staring at you, but she has no idea you're in her presence. She has been petrified, just like lots of other students.
"Why didn't you tell me ?" You ask Ernie, yet your eyes don't look away from Susan.
"I didn't have the time to do so yet. It has happened just now. She's been found in the girl's bathroom."
You move your hands away from your mouth and softly take her hand.
"How did this happen ? Is she going to be alright ?"
You look around and look at madam Pomfrey, who worriedly looks at you, but doesn't give you an answer. You look back at Susan, as tears start to form in your eyes. No one knows if the students who got petrified will be alright. No one knows what's going to happen next.
Harry and Ron have now also run into the hospital wing. They sit beside Hermione, who lays just a bed away from Susan. They start talking a bit, but you can't focus on them. You're worried about Susan.
"What's that ?" Ron suddenly asks, rather loud. You turn your head and look at Harry and Ron. Harry has taken something out of Hermione's hand. A note.
"Ron, this is why she was in the library the day she was attacked", Harry says. You slowly let go of Susan's hand and listen to their conversation.
"Come on", Harry says, and both Harry and Ron stand up.
"Wait !" You say. "Do you know what has happened to everyone ?" You stand up and look at Harry, who's looking back at you. "Can I come with you ?"
Harry first looks at Ron, then back at you and nods.
"I'm also coming !" Ernie steps in. You turn around and see him standing up.
"You have to stay here with Susan, Ernie. Please stay here with Susan and Hermione."
Ernie sits back down again and nods. Harry and Ron walk out of the hospital wing and you follow them, not knowing where the three of you are going, and not sure what's going to happen, but there has to be a way to stop the attacks.
