Chapter Seven

"So you think you got it all figured out?" Hades says.

I'm in my dad's throne room with him looking at me in his godly height. I don't say anything unable to.

"Just know that I will get that crown before you. And also I would find it soon because I heard whoever has it plans on leaving the camp with it." he laughs. "Tell your sister hi. And tell that Solace kid that he's getting what's coming time him. Gift from me."

Finding my voice I yell, "If you touch Will..."

"I won't touch him but someone else will." he says smiling cruelly as if he planned this all.

"Tell whoever this is that if they hurt a hair on his head I swear on the River Styx they will pay." The cavern shakes.

"Who dares threaten me?!" a voice says coming from my right.

I turn and a powerful aura is coming but I never see who it is.

"Nico!" I wake up to Will.

"Will!" I say grabbing his shoulders. He looks confused as if he should be the one shaking me.

"Nico...?" he says hesitantly.

"Will! Are you OK?" I look him over and he just turns red.

"You're OK thank the gods." I say hugging him.

"Nico I love hugs and all but I'm the doctor. I should be the one asking you if you're alright." he tries to back up but I hold him steady.

"Will I was so scared. He said... But it doesn't matter you're OK." that's when the door opens and in comes Hazel.

"Did we come in at the wrong time? We could always come back." she says stepping back revealing the big guy Frank.

I let go of Will and say, "Sorry it's just I was a bit rattled by something involving Will."

"We'll talk later?" she questions looking at me.

"Yeah so what happened?" I ask getting some ambrosia from Will who sits next to me.

"Well heard what happened and well came by to see if you were awake. When you raised the dead all of the camp could feel death and were scared to even come out. Me being me I knew it was you and ran over. Frank took a little convincing." she says smiling at him.

"It's just you didn't feel it. The cold rush the closer we got. I kept slowing down and I knew it wasn't real but it felt like my worse nightmares were right around the corner." he shuddered visibly shaking it off.

"Great I knew I was scary but now I'm like on a Pennywise level." I say turning around gathering my stuff so they don't see me smiling.

"Who's Pennywise?" Will asks looking at me and handing me some nectar.

I drink and Hazel answers "He's a clown from a horror movie that the mortals made."

I nod and say, "Let's get out of here. I want some fresh air."

We all walk out and it's dark but torches are everywhere. 'So old fashioned I think.

"So what did you want to talk about?" I ask no one in particular once we're outside in a circle.

"Well I wanted to know why you collapsed and why you were using your powers in the first place?" Hazel answers sternly crossing her arms.

Before I can answer Will says, "It was for me. I got into some trouble and well Nico kind of went over board. But only one skeleton made it completely out of the ground." he says trying to make it better.

"What are you guys even doing here?" Frank says next.

"A quest was given to me and Will after dinner when Rachael went into her green smoke phase. We have to retrieve a crown that was my father's but me and my father made a deal. If I get it first I can keep it but if his hounds find it first he gets it. I was told it was here and am not leaving until I get it." I finish off putting my hands in my pockets.

"Are you sure it's here? I mean we haven't seen anything and we've been patrolling for the past 2 nights." Hazel says pointing at her and Frank.

"Patrolling or night strolling?" Will says with a smile.

"What? Patrolling obviously." Frank says quickly red creeping onto his face.

I roll my eyes and say, "The guys that were messing with Will said they had it. Thought he was looking for it which is true. But it was definitely campers and I have to find that crown before they leave camp."

Hazel nods and says, "We're having dinner soon we could go make an announcement to the campers and ask for them to come forward."

"That sounds good but not promising. If no one comes forward then I'll take matters into my own hands. Plus Will might be able to recognize them." I say turning to him, he just nods the smile gone.

"OK but we'll have to ask Reyna first. Let's start heading over should be starting soon." Frank says we nod and Frank and Hazel are ahead of us.

I stay behind with Will and say, "You OK? I mean you weren't that happy when I mentioned the guys that..." I can't even finish because of how mad I'm getting.

"It's nothing. Really just hope we can find them and get the crown so we can go back to camp." he says and we settle into silence with Hazel and Frank talking holding hands.

I look at their closed hands. Then I feel something warm close around my hand. Looking down I see Will's hand. Immediately I take it off and say, "Will I'm not playing your game. You can't just hold my hand."

He smiles and get closer to me so our shoulders are touching, "Come on Nico. I saw you looking at their hands." he says pointing at the couple in front of us Frank's arm around Hazel's waist.

"No I wasn't." I say stubbornly.

"Then why haven't you pushed me away?" he says putting his hand in mine.

I think about it and ask myself that same question. It's just nice to have someone close like Bianca...no Nico you can't get close to anyone. Never again.

I shake him off stopping him and making him turn towards me. "Will. I need you to stop all this. I'm not attracted to you nor will I ever be. Yes I'm gay but I will never be in a relationship with you or anyone for that matter so stop trying." I say and a small part of me feels guilty but I can't be close to anyone.

He looks at me sadly and says, "Fine I'll stop but know this. You can't deny your feeling even if you don't have any for me but one day someone will change that." he puts his hand on my cheek and I subconsciously lean in.

"I hope one day you can break down those thick walls you have built around your heart." then he walks off trying to catch up to Hazel and Frank.

I just stand there for a few seconds shocked about what he said. Then I start walking thinking about what he said.

I don't need anyone. Love is what fogs up one's eyes and makes them weak. Like it did to me with Bianca. She was the one person I loved and now she's gone. I can't take another heartbreak. And I won't risk someone getting hurt because of me.

Snapping out of my thoughts I run up to Frank, Hazel, and Will waiting for me. We are in front of Reyna's "office" where Daniel took me earlier. Frank enters us in tow and see Reyna look up for a moment before looking down at her papers again.

"We need to talk again." I say.

This chapter was so intense. First the dream then Solangelo fightish and the crown is definitely in the camp, a lot is happening. Hope you guys liked the chapter!!
