"Are you still mad, Mommy Cami?" Theodore asked me with a worried face. My thoughts were nowhere to be found.
I flashed a faint smile. "I'm okay, baby. Do you enjoy your food?" I asked, trying to divert his thoughts. He's too young to understand our situation. I knew sooner or later, he will start asking questions. How would I explain to him that his father and I don't have any romantic relationship? That we're just a bed buddy?
"I enjoy the food a lot, but I know you are still mad." He pouted his lips. I playfully played his hair and pinched his nose bridge. Theodore is growing faster as day passed by. He is undeniably a Montemayor because of his features that he genetically acquired from his father.
I explained, assuring him everything will be back to normal. Unlike his father, Theodore is sensitive. He is also observant and skeptic. Malayong-malayo kay Francisco na hindi pinag-iisipan ang mga bagay-bagay.
"Bad ba si Daddy, Mommy Cami?" He asked innocently.
"Your Daddy is not bad, Theodore, always remember that. Your Daddy has to learn his lessons, that's why." Mahinahon kong sabi sa kanya.
"Mommy Cami, I don't want to lose you. Can you make a promise that you will not leave me?" He told me with no gag on his face. Natawa naman ako sa sinabi niya.
"Okay, I will not leave you, I promise that." I told him and leaned closer to kiss his cheek.
"Ayan, I kiss you to seal my promise." I said which made him smile.
"I want to watch movies, Mommy Cami! Can I sleepover in your place? I don't have school tomorrow!" He looked and sounded excited of his idea.
After all, Francisco is still his father. He has the rights to know what's happening to his son.
"Daddy!" Theo exclaimed in excitement.
"I will watch movies with Mommy Cami! Can I?" He asked his father's permission.
"Mommy, he wants to talk to you." Theo told me and handed my phone back to me.
I inhaled a deep breath before I speak a word.
"Camila..." His voice was deep and husky. As if he was already apologizing.
I said in a cold voice.
"I know you will take care of him, Camila. I'm sorry for-" Hindi ko na tinapos pa ang sasabihin niya at ibinaba ko na ang tawag.
I don't want to hear his senseless reason repeatedly.
People makes mistakes, but remember that it is always a choice.
"Your Daddy already allowed you, baby." I told him and flashed a smile.
