Chapter 4:
Haley's P.O.V.
I woke to the sun in my face. I stretch out quickly, hoping Avalon was still in my bed.
I found the bed empty, other than myself.
I groaned and rolled out of bed, walking down the stairs and finding Aaron making scrambled eggs and bacon.
Aaron was a nice typical man. A shrink, actually. He is funny sometimes, and it can irritate his wife, Elena.
"Good morning," he said when he was me walk into the kitchen.
He was in his black robe, hadn't shaved his black hair off of his face and his head hair was messy in mis blue eyes.
"Hello," I said and sat down at the island were he was cooking.
"Are you hungry?" he asked and I nodded.
"Where's Elena and Charlie and Emma?" I asked him.
He shrugged. "I don't know. Probably shopping for someones birthday," he said, grinning at me.
Yes, my 17th birthday was next weekend. Whoopty-fucking-doo.
"They don't have to. Besides, Elena sucks at picking out presents. I'm probably going to have to take it back." I decided.
"You'd better not take this back. It's been passes down through the family." he said and stirred the eggs.
"Why would you give me family heirloomes if I'm not your kid?" I asked.
I saw hurt in his eyes, but I was honestly curious.
"I don't know, it's Elena's thing, not mine," he said and looked up to read my face.
I had a calm structure built in and ready to pull out.
"What do you want for your birthday?" he asked.
"I really hadn't thought about it." I said.
"Well, I hope what we get you is worth your while," he said.
They didn't get it, did they? They were just looking out for me untill I moved out. They actually thought I was their Christian daughter.
But the truth was, I wasn't Christian. Even if I was, I still wouldn't want a bible for my birthday, which is probably what Elena is getting me.
"Are you okay?" Aaron asked me.
"Yeah, why do you ask?" I asked him.
"You've just been...I don't know. You're probably just being a girl," he said and chuckled to himself.
"Right," I said and faked-laughed with him.
Avalon's P.O.V.
"Where were you last night?" John asked me as I walked in the from door.
He and Braith were on the couch, cuddling up to Saw.
"He saved me," the drug addict said and Braith and John laughed.
"Saved you? BULLSHIT!" John yelled and turned back to me for an answer.
"He was with his mate," Braith said, all excited.
If I could blush, that is what I would be doing right now.
"How come no one told me this? When do we get to meet her?" John asked as I walked past them and into the kitchen.
They paused their movie to come see me.
Yes. A man or woman finding their souls mate was big. Huge.
