Last Request - Paolo Nutini

The others returned not too long after, making a lot calmer and normal entrance. They all returned with no bites, a few scratches, and some more unidentified people wearing prison onesies. Rick introduced them as Axel and Oscar, however Rick didn't give their group's names away.

They were currently gathered around Hershel's bed, Cecilia not moving from beside his head.

She had also grown very fond of Hershel; he welcomed her to his home with open arms when the world was turning for the worst, and she would be eternally grateful for his hospitality. Cecilia never thought she'd see him like this; his wrist handcuffed to the bed rail incase he turned into one of the monsters he hid in the barn for however long.

"You've done amazing, Cece." Lori smiled at her, watching as Cecilia bit her nails anxiously, feeling although she could've done so much more. Cecilia smiled back at Lori, before glancing over to Rick.

"Carl found all these medical things. He played a massive part in this." Cecilia nodded at Rick, who gazed at Carl with wide eyes.

"Where did you find all that medical stuff?" Rick gawped, staring into the packed bag.

"In the medical room. Who woulda thought it?" She replied sarcastically, which also made the group smirk and grin. Cecilia then looked down to Hershel, who seemed to be reaching out to someone.

"Rick, he wants you." Cecilia said immediately, not knowing how much time he had to spare. Rick sat beside Cecilia, taking Hershel's outstretched hand.

No words were said; there didn't need to be. Rick just smiled down at Hershel as he briefly smiled back, before he closed his eyes, releasing the grip he had on Rick. Rick waited for what was going to happen next, his face twisted in confusion. Everyone else stood or sat straighter, also embodying their curiosity.

Cecilia knew.

She knew when she saw his grip become weak. She knew when he face turned white. She knew when his skin became cold. She knew the second he closed his eyes.

His chest rose and fell very deeply, before he went completely still.

"No, no..." Cecilia stood up and placed her ear near his mouth, trying to feel just a tiny gust of air brush against her cheek, also trying to see if his chest was rising and falling.

"What's happening?!" Maggie exclaimed, Glenn, Lori, and Carol holding her back from her father.

"He's dying!" Cecilia cried, before she leaned down to his lips and began to give him CPR, Rick moving over to his crying little boy. Daryl wanted to go and comfort her, tell her it was alright if Hershel didn't make it, but she looked like she was never going to give up.

She continuously repeated the same process, before she was pushed back into her seat, Rick and Daryl stepping forwards, incase he had turned.

Hershel was breathing. He was alive.

"Daddy!" Beth and Maggie kneeled beside his bed and took his hand, to which he smiled and kissed their foreheads. Cecilia closed her eyes for a few seconds, her breathing still ragged from the panic and intensity of it all.

"Well done, Cece." Rick stood her up and hugged her tightly, to which she returned.

He released her and allowed her to make her way out of the cell, the room feeling quite claustrophobic now that she had the time to take in her surroundings.

They all eventually left with her, sitting back around their table and allowing Hershel to rest. She was curious about what went on, and so was everyone else. Rick told the rest of the group about what had happened down there; finding a few prisoners locked away in the cafeteria. They were told about Tomas, Andrew and Big Tiny (the ones who didn't make it).
