Skinny Love - Birdy

"I thought he was with you?-"

"-He went to go and find you, he told me to get Glenn and Maggie out-"

"-Which way did he go?-"

"-Wherever he thought you'd be-"

"-I didn't see him nowhere-"

"-Guys!" Glenn intervened in the very unhelpful and time consuming conversation that was taking place, all eyes snapping to Glenn.

"We need to get a plan together and figure out how we're gonna find Daryl. No more time wasting crap." The old decisive Glenn was back, which is what the group needed more than anything in that moment in time.

They ended up back in Woodbury, much to their dismay, however their plan of "split up and search" was put to a halt instantly, as their attention was drawn to a miniature stadium filled with the citizens of Woodbury all chanting and clapping. They were drawn into the event that was happening, blending in with the other onlookers in one of the stands. There were four walkers on chains stood in a square, some of the Governor's henchmen standing with chain leashes that were shackled to the living dead. The stadium was surrounded by fire; the only thing that was providing them with any light.

"The hell is this?" Rick whispered, primarily to Cecilia who was stood beside him.

"It looks like...Gladiator?" Cecilia furrowed her brows at the concept, as it would obviously be quite an inconvenient time to be holding games from the Roman era.

The Governor protruded from the back of a stand, Merle continuing to walk to the centre of the stadium. He seemed to be soaking in all of the attention he was receiving from the spectators, the Governor barely managing to speak over the noise. A figure with a brown bag over their head stood beside him, their hands tied behind their back.

"Let the games begin!" The bag was ripped off the person, revealing a very angry and distressed Daryl.

The group's eyes widened, knowing full well that he would be made to fight Merle.

"Oh, shit." Rick and Cecilia grimaced, Daryl pushed forcefully into the ring. His eyes scanned around him quickly, examining his surroundings. Merle and him swapped some words before Merle suddenly swung for Daryl, who fell to the floor with a grunt.

"No!" Cecilia screamed subconsciously, which caught the attention of the two fighters and the Governor, who nodded at one of his men to grab her, which they did.

She didn't protest, as they dragged her closer to Daryl. She stared at Daryl in fear, who glanced between Cecilia and the man.

Merle swung another punch at him whilst he was distracted, which caused his nose to bleed. The crowd screamed louder, the walkers more provoked.

"Stop!" Cecilia lunged forward again, pulled back by the man and pushed down to the floor on her knees, a bunch of her hair in his grip. Cecilia held onto his wrists to somewhat ease the pain ever so slightly.

"Leave her alone." Daryl actually sounded vulnerable, as it didn't sound like his usual growl.

The brothers began fighting against the walkers together, as well as the henchmen that came to attack them.

After a few punches and kicks, Rick, Michonne, Maggie and Glenn came to the rescue, pulling Daryl out from the danger, Merle tagging along too.

Daryl punched the holy hell out of the man that grabbed Cecilia, gently hoisting her up and making her run before him, leaving the carnage behind at Woodbury.
