-Saturday Morning.
~
Today at the floral shop had more people than I had expected, mom was giving away free flowers. I was helping to cut the plants at in the garden at the back then placed them in water. We had a small garden that mom loved so much.
She plants all her most delicate and rare flowers there, it was very beautiful and hidden from view also. The people would go crazy if they saw what was planted around here. It was off limit to others.
"Easter Lilies number seventeen."
I called out placing the case of flowers on the counter.
"That would be me."
A very familiar voice spoke and I glanced up seeing Chase! Why is he buying flowers? He looked very simple today, gray long sleeved shirt and matching Denhim jeans. His hair was untidy as usual, haven't he heard of something called a brush, still I think he actually looks nice.
He approached the counter taking a seat. He placed a hand at his cheek.
"This place is small but beautiful, you and your mom make a great team."
His perfume was light and elegant, he smelt good. Like the bursting of spring in the morning.
"I'd like to plant these in pots but the roots are not there."
He said.
"Well - you should have been more specific. I'll change them right now."
I left to the garden and got him some nice one's.
"Here, they are. Fresh from the soil."
"Thank you. Oh, here's the payment."
He gave me the money and our fingers touched for a second, I gasp lightly and inside my heart started racing on it's own.
"Chisa, you okay - "
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Just please take care of the plants. It hurts -"
His eyes glanced at me and I looked away taking up the pen to check off his order.
"Hurts?" He asked and my fingers squeezed the pen.
"It hurts to see shriveled plants, um. Because I honestly love plants."
He laughed lightly.
"What?"
"I understand that you love plants so you don't have to get all nervous explaining."
"I'm not nervous! You keep assuming stuff about me." I said checking my list.
"Your voice was shaking, it was very obvious."
"Stop talking and put the flowers in the jar of water I gave you."
"Ok Ok."
He carefully placed the plant roots in the jar of water and I wiped off the table with a piece of cloth.
"Chisa, will you be free after work?"
He asked me and I felt a little hidden happiness bubbling from my heart.
"Uh - Yeah." I spoke lowly continuing to wipe the water from the counter.
"I heard you're good at Physics."
I stopped wiping and my eyes skipped over to him.
"What about it?"
"I heard Mr. Auburn talking about your exam paper very early this morning after basketball practice."
