Two weeks later ~
(Chisapeak's departure gate)
Almost half of the school students were standing together at the departure gate for an environment educational camping trip. They were all excited and talking to each other non stop, it was really loud and annoying.
My mother was still in another state so I've been staying at Chase's place. It's really nice being there but there was a teensy bit of a problem, no, more like I'm stupid. Given that we've been under the same roof, we should be getting more closer to each other.
That isn't the case, I've gotten more self conscious and flustered being in his presence. Um - I mean like, I'd get really nervous when ever we came in contact with each other and this only makes things so awkward! I've been so shy around him.
Like, what's wrong with you Chisanna! I'm so not girlfriend material, arrgh. Chase must be turned off by me. I wanted to be someone special to him.
The buses which were our transportation were all parked one place while the teachers were doing a spot check. The president of the environmental science club was speaking to one of the teachers about route we would be travelling on, he was holding up a map while the teacher observed it carefully.
They better observe it well, getting lost was the last thing on my list. Anna, Bridget and Charlize were chatting together, they would laugh every now and then while glancing at me.
My eyes averted from them, this was irritating. I'm certain they were gossiping about me. Chase wasn't here as yet but most of his friends were already waiting. This school was divided in groups, popular, nerds, weirdos, anime freaks, sports athletes, goths and the list goes on.
How long were they going to wait? The son was hot.
Some girls from the journalism club seem to be watching me, behind trees, a few of the buses and even behind other students. Why - are they watching me? What the heck is their problem.
"Chase, you're already late man."
Arson said and my eyes went in the direction where he spoke.
I saw Chase walk up to the rest of their friends with his bag pack. He looked so nice and very neat, given that his clothes were custom made to his style. My heart skipped a few beats and started racing on its own, looking at him. And I'm not the only girl who was.
There was a red head set around his neck and he had a basketball too. His hair was over grown with a few strands over his forehead, messy and had not known a comb since morning, the sight of him was a heart - throb.
A light gulp went down with a little saliva and my cheeks felt hotter than the blazing sun. He didn't seem to have noticed me, thank goodness.
And why are you thanking yourself? My subconscious pried like some nosey detective and I fanned the buzzing though aside. There were a lot of students standing in my direction who were a lot taller than me so he wouldn't have noticed.
Charlize approached them with Bridget and the others, and the boys turned their attention to them except Chase, his eyes were else where, surveying his surrounding. What is he looking for? I gently pulled my hat more over my head, keeping low. Why do I feel like he's looking for me?
Charlize placed her arm around his and my fingers without warning squeezed the straps of my bag. She was getting so close to him. It wasn't like I'm jealous or anything but I'm not as bold as her. My eyes glanced away, Chase and I were a couple and I didn't have that sort of confidence as Charlize.
