My home was noisy today, my friends and basketball team members were here, celebrating our big win at Caverswall High school. We had been practicing at a court with professionals throughout the period of the matches, we only lost one match but won every single one of them in the final round.
Another gold for Chesapeak high school.
Our coach was proud of us, two gold in one month. Every one was chatting, drinking and ecstatic. Even though I smiled and laughed with the others, on the inside - I felt like my heart was cracking, like I could almost hear it, getting ready to break.
The presidents daughter whom my father chose for me to be with is now living next door to me. He was my father but I truly hated his way of doing things, a few days ago, Chisa promised me she'd be at my big game, I really wanted her to be there, knowing that, had given me so much strength and encouragement. But she didn't come..
Thinking of why she didn't come caused me to mess up in the first round of our match, which resulted in the loss of a score. My mind had been so much on Chisa, it felt painful. Focusing on the match and knowing that she wasn't there, was hard.
I love Chisa, I really love her but somehow it feels like she was starting to hate me. She even avoids me at school, I tried texting and calling but there wouldn't be a reply.
I wanted to be the one to be there for her, to comfort and cherish her --- but I'm probably not fit enough to be her boyfriend. No, I refuse to believe that, I'm more than able to show my affection and feelings to the girl I love. Chisa.
Hannson flopped in the couch, placing his arm around my neck.
"Captain, we couldn't have won without your diligent leadership towards the team but that first loss was so unlike you."
He said and popped open a cold beer.
I smiled.
"I guess I wasn't concentrating at that time."
He gave me one of the beer and I thanked him before popping it open.
A thoughtful expression came over his face and he glanced at me.
"Did you break up with Chisanna?"
He asked and I nearly choked on the beer, now coughing, he had to pat my back. That question was too serious.
"Don't choke on me like that man."
He said laughing.
"No dude, I didn't break up with Chisa." I said, recovering quickly from the icy beer that had slipped into my wind pipe.
He placed a finger on his chin and nodded as if he was comprehending something.
"You're --- in love with her?"
I quickly got up from the couch, feeling my heart reeling out of control - my face was getting warm. That question came out of the blue!
"I - need to go upstairs and finish my incomplete homework!"
I said walking off and he grabbed my wrist.
"Not so fast Captain, we're friends here. No need to ditch me like that." I could hear the smirk in his voice.
I turned to him.
"What?" I asked sternly seeing a clever smirk playing on his mouth.
He inevitably sat me down into the couch.
