It felt like a heavy load was lifted from my shoulders, exams were finally over and done with. I hated studying. Arson was still in his History exam, they were doing a two hour paper. There's no way, I'm going to sit for two hours looking at some boring paper.
I stretched my arms glancing up at the wide blue sky, it was pretty cloudy today. Most of the students were outside idling, exams are finished so we were free for the rest of the week.

Though my father didn't show much affection toward me when I was smaller, he had very high expectations of me in my studies. My grades has to be good or ill be facing that stern cold face for chastening.
Though my grades are always good, Chisanna was on honor roll, like me. She was the only person who got a full score on this semester Physics paper.

She doesn't normally text when we're home but speaks to me at school. I was wearing the bracelet she made for me.

I feel like changing then play basketball since I'm bored. The students from the environmental science club were busy planting flowers and young trees around the place, they were not in uniform but had on their trademark T shirt. I saw Chisanna, I didn't know she was in the environmental science club. She loved plants so I'd expect that, we were both wearing our bracelets today. What a surprise.

She was talking with an upperclassman, probably a year older than our class. He was the president of the environmental science club, I didn't know his name but he gets along well with fellow students of his class and others. Chisanna was giggling and was very shy in front of him as she carefully covered up the roots of the young plant.

I - didn't like the way he was looking at her and she was blushing too. Chase what's wrong with you? They're just talking. I honestly didn't know if Chisanna felt something for me, she plainly made it clear she liked me as a friend.

He glanced up seeing me and I pushed my hands in my pockets.

"I didn't know the captain of the basketball team was here, would you like to change and help us?"

He queried brushing soil from his hand.

"I don't know much about plants."

I said scratching my head.

"We can teach you, that's why the environmental science club is here, we learn from each other and share ideas."

He said.

"Ok, I'll change."

I left the group to change and returned with water since the sun was out brightly.

I went over to them and bent down on the ground. The president introduced himself and the group and they all gave me a warm welcome, Chisanna didn't make any eye contact with me at all.

"Since this is your first time, you can watch me do it."

Lila spoke confidently taking up her spade, she had very long brunette hair but she placed it into pig tails.

"Ok."

I noticed most of the girls were working close to me, the president was making small holes for the plants.

"Lila, give me the spade. I'll show Chase how to apply the soil."

Brooke said trying to take the spade from Lila but she held onto to it.

"Please don't fight over the spade. There are two more here."

The president spoke giving one to Brooke and she thanked him.
