Chapter 13
Summer Fling
HONGSEOK"So you are going out with Hyunjoo? Heol!" Kino asked over the videochat I was currently having with him and Wooseok.
"Hyunjoo? The quiet girl in high school?" Wooseok asked.
I nodded with a smile that just won't fade. "Yes! The cute one? The smart one?" I said and they both frowned. "What?"
"Looks like cupid knocked you up." Wooseok said this time with a grin.
"How did that happen? Oh, and I heard from Hyojong that she was sleeping in your van?" Kino asked, lazily laying on the upper bunk bed beside Wooseok.
"And that you left Shinwon's party with her!" Wooseok added with interest.
I groaned. "Hyojong said that? How much did he tell you guys?"
Kino shrugged. "It's true then."
"Don't worry, we told him not to gossip about it." Wooseok said.
I laughed. "Hyojong? A gossiper? Seems unlikely."
"Ha! You think." Kino said, coming closer to the camera. "When are you coming back?"
"I don't know."
"Obviously, he's having fun with Ms. Number Two." Wooseok said with a smirk.
"Can you guys believe she doesn't know we used to call her that? I mean, she thinks nobody really noticed her." I told them.
Hyunjoo's nickname was Ms. Number Two among us because she was Changgu's competitor in rankings. He was number one academically.
Wooseok frowned so deep with a snort. "Kele thinks that all the time! She doesn't give me the right to be jealous. At all! Like, she thinks I'm always the only one who gets attention."
This time, Kino and I frowned at him. "That potato gets guys' attention?" Kino asked, now laughing.
"Hey! She's not a potato!" Wooseok argued.
"She calls herself one." Kino said nonchalantly.
"Well... she's a french fry." Wooseok said thoughtfully. "A cute french fry!"
"There's no such thing as a cute french fry!" Kino bursted out laughing.
I grinned. "Looks like cupid knocked you up." I told him.
Wooseok groaned. "You tell me! I loveㅡ"
"STOP, STOP, STOPㅡat least, don't say it for the rest of the summer please." Kino said, lifting his hand to stop his best friend.
"Didn't Kele spend time with Yanan in China?" I asked.
Wooseok buried his face in a pillow and mumbled, "Don't even mention it!"
I laughed. "If you hate it so much then why'd you say it was okay?"
"Exactly!" Kino chimed in.
He removed the pillow off his face. "It's okay. It's just thatㅡshe cried over him, okay? I know how important their friendship is. I couldn't argue when she told me about visiting Yanan in China. I justㅡwell, if your girlfriend's in another part of the world with another guy, it kinda bothers you too even though trust is there."
Kino laughed and smacked Wooseok's head with a pillow. "Dummy, she's just in China! That's a few hours away by plane. And you give me goosebumps. You'll see her in no time. Stop whining."
"Okay, this is not about me. So how is Hyunjoo?" Wooseok asked, leaning into the camera.
"What is he supposed to answer to that?" Kino asked.
