Ellie was pissed. At least a week... An entire week of sharing room, a bed with the one and only, annoying as fuck, Max Joseph. She let out a shaky breath. "And who knows? What if he made all the reservations with two rooms? "I'm pissed now, but an entire freaking month? Can I do it?"

She shook her head to clear her thoughts. "No, I don't really feel this way, do I? Of course not. Get your shit together, Elle." In fact, she felt the opposite. "Why do I like him so much?"

"Room... What room number are we again?" Max asked cautiously. "Now she's mad. Good going." Gritting her teeth, Ellie answered, "Room 1312. Up here to the left."

Max nodded, but the gesture was unseen. Reaching the door, Ellie looked up at Max expectantly. He stopped and looked at her, his fingers clutching the suitcase tightly. "What are we doing, playing the staring game?" Ellie thought, growing impatient. Ellie widened her eyes and stuck out her hand, palm facing upward. "Key." Max's gaze dropped. "Oh, right, sorry. My bad," he stuttered, searching his pockets for the card.

"Here. Sorry," he repeated, fishing the key from his back pocket. Ellie gave him a pathetic half-smile, her gaze on the floor.

Following Ellie into the room, Max tossed his bag in a chair and leaned his suitcase against a wall. "Okay, so... food?" Max heard her chuckle from the other side of the room. He looked up to find Ellie standing by the window. He moved to stand beside her.

"Sorry..." he whispered.

"Nah... it's all good." She muttered, her mind lost in the view of Daytona Beach.

"You sure? I feel like shi-"

"You did it on purpose though, didn't you?"

He didn't answer. Ellie heard him sigh, and she did the same. An awkward silence filled the room. Tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear, she shot him a side glance. "Food?"

"Italian."

"Mexican."

"Chinese."

"Why don't we just go to like, Burger King?" Ellie asked. "Since neither of us can agree on a damn restaurant." Nev's eyes widened. "Are you kidding," he asked, chuckling. "No way in hell am I eating at Burger King." Ellie rolled her eyes. "Whatever. I'm down for anything at this point."

Max chimed in. "So why don't we just go to the Italian place then?" Nev turned around to face the back seat of the rental car, his patience wearing thin. "Because nobody wants Italian except for you." Max scoffed and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. Ellie cut the two off. "Alright. Nev, you want Chinese. Max, you want Italian. And I want Mexican. So we should get Mexican."
