Adam pulled Ellie toward him, embracing her in a hug. "I missed you," he muttered into her shoulder. Ellie smiled and pulled away to look at him. "I missed you more."
Ellie didn't exactly understand her and Adam's relationship. They were definitely closer than friends, but weren't exactly "a thing" either. Countless conversations had revolved around the topic of "what are we?" Ellie was never rewarded with an answer.
Her YouTube fans knew about them... and shipped them. Hard. She had filmed so many Q&A's trying to get a straight answer out of him without bringing it up alone. But it was no use. On camera, they were different people.
Adam moved his hand to her cheek and wrapped his arm around her side, his hand resting on the small of her back. "Want something to eat?" Ellie nodded and pushed a strand of blonde hair behind her ear.
As he walked in front of her, making his way to the garage, Ellie finally noticed what he was wearing. She studied his button-up and jeans closely. She felt her face go red as he turned around to open the door for her. "I wasn't just totally checking you out. Hell no." He raised his eyebrows when he caught her expression and pink cheeks.

Ellie studied her surroundings. "This has to be the nicest restaurant I've been to in years," she thought to herself. She smiled up at Adam. "This place is nice, Adam. Like, really nice." He gave a chuckle. "You've never been here?"
She shook her head. "No way! YouTube has it's perks... but a place like this?" She leaned forward. "No fucking way," she mouthed, laughing. Adam covered his mouth and lowered his head in laughter.

Ellie took the last sip of her third glass of wine. She took a breath. "I'm done." Adam nodded and yawned. "Same here. Ready?" Ellie smiled and reached for his hand across the table. She held his hand in hers and intertwined their fingers. "Thanks for dinner."
He traced her hand with his fingers and looked down. As he looked up. Ellie saw an unfamiliar expression cross his face like a shadow. He let go quickly. "No problem."
Ellie watched as he stood up from the booth. Confusion flashed in her eyes. "W-What's wrong, Adam?" He pursed his lips and shook his head. "Nothing, tired... Gotta get home, know what I mean?"
Ellie gave a slow nod and stood. She looked up at him with her eyes to try and mentally match his height. He looked down to avoid her gaze. Ellie blinked quickly and turned to leave.

"Thanks for watching Leo and the house. It means a lot," Ellie said, looking through the passenger seat window. He gave a sympathetic, almost regretful, smile. "Don't mention it. Call you tomorrow?" Ellie smiled and nodded. "Maybe I was too touchy? I only held his hand, geez. It's not like we haven't done more than that before."
She turned to walk back to her front porch. Adam honked the horn as a goodbye and pulled out of the driveway. Sighing, she opened the door. Leo greeted her with a lolling tongue and a wagging tail. Leaning in the doorway, she grabbed the leash off of a hook in the hallway.
