Ellie sat in her office, her feet lounged on the desk. She let out a sigh and tapped the pen to her lips. This was one of those rare times Ellie could actually concentrate. Of course it was 4:30 in the morning, and of course she was high on coffee and granola bars.
A few missed vlogs made her realize it was time to start pre-making videos again. She had filmed and pre-filmed until her throat hurt and her voice was gone. She ran her fingers through her hair and continued her schedule.
Monday: Vlog
Tuesday: Rant/Storytime Video
Wednesday: Vlog
Thursday: Q&A Video
Friday: Collab Video"Should I... Yeah. I need the weekend off. God, I need a break." Ellie took another sip of coffee and unwrapped another granola bar. She took a minute to look at the scene in front of her. Wrappers scattered everywhere, empty coffee mugs sat to the side of her desk.
She laughed at her pathetic binge and shook her head. Ellie moved the mouse pad on her laptop to get the time. Her eyes widened in shock when she realized it was now 5:00. "Shit."
She collected her granola bar wrappers and threw them in the trash can beneath her desk. Closing her notebook, Ellie reached over to grab the mugs, trying not to drop them. She made her way past the open door of her bedroom quietly, trying not to wake the dog. Hell hath no fury like an angry and tired Leo.
"I should call Adam tomorrow," she thought to herself quietly. "Okay... dishes are in the sink, trash is in the trash can, lights are off, doors are locked, alarm is on. Bed time."
Ellie tiptoed into her room and shut the door quietly "Please don't wake up, please don't wake up, please don't wake up," she willed the dog silently. Leo snorted in his sleep and kicked out as if he were running. Ellie smiled warmly at the closest thing she had to family.
Even in the crappy cardboard box she found him in, he was full of personality. His big, hazel puppy eyes and long, floppy ears could brighten a room instantly. Ellie always wondered how the hell someone could abandon such an adorable dog.
Ellie was pulled from her thoughts by a chime from her phone. She winced at the loud noice and leaned to the side of her bed to check on Leo. "Still sleeping, good." Ellie put her phone on vibrate.
She smiled at the sight of Max's name. Sitting up, she clicked on the message app.
Ellie: Hey! I miss you. Why are you up so late?
Max: Aw, you really miss me? And um... it's almost 9:00 in the morning lol. Time difference, babe.
Ellie: Oh! I forgot about that! And of course I miss you❤️
Max: Aww😘 And guess what.
Ellie: What?
Max: No, you gotta guess.
