I wait for the lights to dim as I stand patiently. I had asked Angela to make Paul keep the lads in one of the suites. I wanted my act to be a surprise. The only person I allowed was Zayn, but it's because he's my brother.
I wanted my entrance to be original and so I did. I wanted this top secret and so it is. No one other than the necessary people know about this. I may make people hate me, but who cares.
My video starts and people seemed confused, but excited nonetheless.
"Hey everyone!" my voice from the video says. "You may not know who I am, but I'm Laura. You may not know much about me, other than I'm the opening act tonight. I have a little information I should tell you." I get ready to start, "but why hear it from a video when you can hear it from the real me."
This is my cue and I walk out.
"That's why I'm all the way over here," I wave at the camera guy that zeros in on where I stand. I'm at one of the entrances to the crowd and the people around me scream.
"Hey guys. So I am Laura Gonzalez, but I'm more than that. I'm also Zayn Malik's sister. I barely found that out when I moved here last year. My mother is Trisha, Zayn and I share a mother. Anne is also a friend of the family, u consider her my aunt." the camera guy focuses on them as I walk to the stage.
"All the families of One Direction are here today, so cam we give them a found of applause. I mean they have made these five gorgeous males and look at what they've become." I clap with the crowd as I get closer to the stage.
"Not only am I related to a member of One Direction, and am practically related to another member, but I have a surprise for you all." I walk up the stage and go to the center.
"I'm also dating one of the members. Now let's see my options," a picture of all of them pops up. "Now we can take Zayn off because he's my brother. So can we cross him out? Thanks.
"Now I wouldn't date Harry because... I see him as my brother too. So sorry Harry, you gotta go. Now Louis is taken so ba-bye Louis, but you know I still love you. Now all that's left are Niall and Liam.
"The options. I honestly wouldn't be able to guess who if I was in your position, but since I'm not I don't really have to worry. So let's get all the lads up here and see if they can guess." the crowd roars as they walk on stage confused.
"Now. Niall, Liam, can I have you stand right here?" They move to where I ask with furrowed brows.
"Now, Zayn, Harry, and Louis can you guys guess who I'm dating? I know that Liam and Niall know, but do you." I hand them the microphone and they all look at each other.
"I don't know? Niall?" Harry and Louis say at the same time.
"Larry Stylinson everybody," I laugh and clap. "Zayn? Who do you choose?"
"I honestly don't know? However I think I can guess." he walks up to his two friend and puts his arms around them.
"I'm sorry about this, but I thought you knew the rule. The-no-dating-sisters rule," he says staring at Niall. "I am ashamed of you Liam." I laugh because he guessed it.
"Yup, my brother guessed it. I am dating none other than Liam Payne. Sorry Niall, " he pouts but smiles right after.
"Now that we have that out of the way and you can all start hating me now, let's get this concern started." I yell as the lads run off stage.
"Now this is my first song and I wrote it myself. It's called I'm Me." I introduce the song as the band starts.
I sing this song with all my heart as I tell all these girls that no matter what they think of me or what they say, I won't care.
I sing about how I will never change no matter how the world will force me to.
I sing my lungs out as I make sure my message get across to all these fans. I love this song because it really reflects on who I am.
When I finish the song I do some covers and talk a bit. Do more covers and them I have to leave the stage. I know the crowd is shocked because the are quiet and then at once start to scream.
My job is done. I know that no matter how the world and fame and gossip will try to morph me into something else I won't happen. I have people to ground me because I am who I am.
I'm me.
