Ch. 40 Please

¤Liam P.O.V.¤

She doesn't respond, she only gasps and has wide eyes.

"I-I... I know it seems sudden, but Laura I love you. I know we've only known each other for five months and have been dating less than that, but I know I want this." I say as I stay on my knee. "So what do you say Laura?"

"Liam," She says quietly as she shakes her head and runs off leaving me on the ground.

I just stare after her. She didn't answer me.

My eyes water as I stand up and sit in my seat. I put my head in my hands and I silently sob. I feel a hand on my back, but I brush it off.

I laid my heart out and she just crushed it by not answering and running away. I can't stop the tears that are in my eyes.

I can't stop the pain in my chest.

I can't stop the aching of my heart.

I can't stop this, any of this.

I hear many footsteps go in the direction she left in, but I don't care right now.

"Liam, mate, get up." Harry coax and tries too lift my head off the table.

"What do you want Harry?" I ask as I wipe my face of any tears.

"Mate, go after her. If you really want this, then chase it. If you really love her and want to spend your life with, tell her that. Make her say yes," he says

"Yeah, Liam." Louis says. "Go make her say yes. I mean Eleanor would've probably acted the same if I asked her to marry me."

"Lou, you're not helping," I mumble.

"Liam, go. Go after her," Niall encourages.

"I can't, she will just leave me again." I say as I put my head down.

"Damn it, Liam." Zayn yells as I jolt up. "Liam, you love her. Plain and simple. She loves you. I knew all this time that you guys were going out, I just never said anything. Mate you've never had that spark in your eyes ever. Not with Dani, not with anybody. Only my sister.

"Only my sister has made you someone else. You've actually come out of your shell. You are someone we never thought you'd be. You have become a better person. Liam, you actually smile at everything. Before you only smiled out of pity, rarely because you wanted to.

"Liam, go. I gave you permission to ask my sister to marry you. The reason I said yes was because I knew she'd want it. The only reason she left and didn't answer was because it was so sudden. Get up and go after her," he pushes me out of my chair and towards the door.

I have no idea where to go, but I just follow my instinct.  I have walk to the restrooms and I see the girls standing outside the door.

"Laura," Gemma begs, "please come out."

She doesn't reply as they all try to get her out of the restroom.

"Tell her to let someone in," I mouth. "I'll go in and talk to her."

They all nod and then Safaa starts to talk.

"Will you at least let someone go inside?" she asks nicely.

We hear the door unlock as her footsteps retreat from the door.

"Good luck," they all mumble as I walk inside.

"I don't know why I ran away, you know that," she says with her head against the wall. "I don't know why."

I don't respond, I only let her talk.

"I mean, it's a giant shock. I just learned I had another sister on top of bring related to someone famous. I practically isolated myself for two or three month. I feel like in about to do that again.

"I mean, I never thought Liam would ever propose to me. I always thought that he'd find someone better. That I was only there for awhile. That's why we never really told anyone I guess.- why I never told at least.

"I thought that if it was kept a secret it would last longer, but I mean he just asked me to marry him. He asked my mum and Zayn if he could ask for my hand. I mean who does that now?

"Liam has an old soul. One that needs to be kept. I can't do that. I may love old souls, but I can't give that soul what they want.

"I'm just not good enough for him. I've never been good enough for him. I know I love him, I mean who can't. I love him with the whole of me, I just want to say yes, but I can't knowing I'm not good enough." she sighs

"But you are good enough Laura," she gasps and looks up at me. "I love you, I always will. Marry me and make me the luckiest man alive. Please?"
