Chapter 7: Work to be Done

As the weeks went by, both One Direction and Fifth Harmony each got their albums finished even though 1D's album was delayed a bit for one reason.

Turns out Harry & Liam had been secretly writing a song together called "You Never Loved Me", which was about the anger & pain each guy went through after their individual relationships had each ended. Both guys had a lot to get off of their chests & figured that getting their frustrations out by writing a song might be a way to do it.

In Harry's case, his relationship with Taylor Swift had ended bitterly because he had supposedly said something to her that he shouldn't have said. In Harry's opinion, he had wanted to be as honest with her as he could, but she just couldn't handle it. It had been the same way with Kendell Jenner.

In Liam's case, his breakup with Sophia Smith had made him question a lot of things. Still, he felt that he needed to do what he needed to do from the album to the tour with Fifth Harmony even if she hated it & begged him to stay in England with her rather then go to the United States.

When Harry & Liam presented tot he song to their bandmates as well as their producer, everyone was enthusiastic about it, & all agreed that the song should be on the album. It was recorded in one day.

As for the collaboration with Fifth Harmony, it had been going well. The song, "We Stand Together", was a rousing anthem about being there for each other & being strong in the face of whatever hardships might come their way. Both bands loved what they had come up with & were excited for it. There were plans to release it as a single, but it wasn't official yet.

On the personal front, Harry & Ally's blossoming romance was greatly supported by their band mates, who were all genuinely happy for them.

For his One Direction band mates, Ally was perfect for Harry. She was sweet, kind, funny, and genuine. She wasn't using him for publicity like Kendall Jenner did or to write a nasty song about like Taylor Swift tried to do. She just liked Harry for who he was as a person.

For the 5H girls, seeing Ally happy was something they had been waiting for ever since her ex Troy had sold her out to the tabloids in an effort to make some quick money. Seeing their friend so hurt by his betrayal was tough for Lauren, Camila, Normani, and DInah to see, but they loved her & stood by her.

Now as they waited for the news that "We Stand Together" would offically be a single, both groups were nervous.

"I hope it happens. We all worked so hard on that song," said Camila nervously. "I know. We all hope it happens, Cam," said Zayn with a smile as he patted her on the shoulder. Harry & Ally simply held hands tightly while the others all felt like they were on pins & needles.

Then came a surpirse neither group was expecting.

Simon Cowell himself walked into the conference room with a big smile on his face. One Direction & Fifth Harmony both looked at him eagerly.

"It's official, guys. Your song is now a single," said Simon. He then braced himself for impact.

Both groups screamed & cheered excitedly. Simon got mobbed by all ten singers as they all hugged & jumped on him in sheer happiness.

This was more then either group had hoped for. Then they all realized something.

Now was the time to turn it into a major success.
