Trials and Love

Chapter 1

      The light shone through the window as Robert Dires, age 24, woke up and looked out. Another fine day in the city of New Brewster. A city that was once a small town, but more and more people have settled in since the early 2000s. Now it's become a city of its own and the people are happy and very kind.
      Robert smiled as he got up and got dressed for the day, going downstairs and grabbing a cup of coffee. He loved this city and the people in it. He and his family moved here since 22 years ago. His older brother, Ace, age 26, had moved out and moved to Bridgetown, the town across the river, but his little sister, Cassady, age 22, and his younger brother, Quinton, age 20, still lived with their parents, Henry and Elizabeth.
      He glanced at the clock before getting up and going to work, grabbing his bag by the door. He was a doctor at the New Brewster hospital and a well known and very talented one as well. He loved his job a lot and was willing to help anyone who needed it. When he arrived he smiled at his sister, who was the receptionist.
     "Morning Cassy." She looked up and smiled at her brother.
     "Morning Rob! Here. These came in this morning. It's the results for some of the patients here." Cassy handed him a binder. He nodded as he took it.
     "Thank you. Don't overdo it today."
     "I should be saying that to you!" She laughed. He chuckled lightly and smiled before heading to his office to check the results and put them into his computer. Along the way he noticed his friend, Jonathan, in room 126.
     "Jon?" He knocked on the door before coming inside. "What's bothering you?"
     "Hello Rob. Nothing is bothering me. I was just told to wait here." Jon replied.
     "Ah, I see. May I ask why?" He asked him.
     "My little sister..."
